Stella and Summer turned toward the door in unison, but the smiles instantly froze on their faces when they saw who had walked in.

It was Lucca Sterling!

"What are you doing here? Get out!" Stella was the first to react, her voice icy.

But Lucca completely ignored her. He lunged forward, trying to pull Summer into his arms. "Summer, you're finally back. I knew you couldn't bear to leave me!"

Summer swiftly stepped back, her expression freezing over as she glared at him. "Are you out of your mind? I came back for Stella. It has absolutely nothing to do with you."

Lucca dropped his voice, adopting a pitiful tone. "Summer, please stop being mad at me. I've cut all ties with Aria. I deleted her number, blocked her everywhere, and kicked her out. Please, you have to believe me."

It was true that Lucca had kicked Aria out. Recently, Aria had begged her way into a job at his company. Not only was she completely incompetent, but she secretly added the contact information of one of their most valuable clients and began flirting with him privately.

Furious, Lucca fired her on the spot and demanded she vacate the apartment he had bought for her. To his shock, Aria retaliated by going to the police, falsely claiming he had forced himself on her and gotten her pregnant. With his back against the wall, Lucca had been forced to pay her a massive settlement. When Aria finally left, she stole core company data, causing Lucca to lose a string of vital projects.

Aria's vile behavior only amplified Lucca's profound regret, reminding him of just how incredible Summer had been. Summer was brilliant and capable; clients trusted her implicitly. At home, she managed every detail of his life seamlessly. Even when they fought and broke up, she never made a scene or tore him down.

Lucca realized no one could ever compare to Summer. He wanted to win her back, to make her love him again! So the moment he heard she had returned, he dropped everything and rushed over.

"Summer, I brought my ID and the household register. Let's go get our marriage certificate right now!"

Lucca dropped to one knee in front of her, desperately holding up a ring. "Summer, I know I messed up. I can't live without you. Give me one more chance. Marry me, please?"

"Lucca, if you're sick in the head, go check yourself into a psych ward!" Stella snapped furiously. "You didn't cherish her when she loved you, and now you're playing the devoted lover? Besides, Summer is already married! So take your ring and get the hell out!"
