"What company?" Kaylee asks, rolling her eyes.

"Oroboros Incorporated" I say, knowing that she knows exactly what I'm talking about. She laughs, shaking her head.

"You're fucking crazy, she scoffs.

"Come on," glance over at her.

"You don't think we can do it?"

"We can do it," she shrugs. "It doesn't make it any less crazy. Who else is coming with us?"

"Ana and my grandmother. There is no way in hell Xavier is going to let us take it over without getting his share."

"How did you become friends with that asshole?" she rolls her eyes.

"He's cool. Eloy Pinson, cool, | laugh. She clears her throat and shifts uncomfortably at the mention of her first boyfriend after Gavin found his mate. "Is yours still as bad as it was?" she asks. I glance over at her. "What? Did you really think I wasn't going to look?

You could have died."

"The woman who treated me. She used a mortal treatment technique. Because I'm a Lycan, what was left

was cleared out. I just have the surface scars now."

"Surgical steel," she nods. "There's a rumor going around that you killed those Shadows because of what the doctor did."

"Yeah, and it's also the reason why I want this company," I pull into the clinic. Santiago and his men are here, which means she opened up just for us. I park and turn to face her. "You don't have to come with me. I know it's a lot to ask. But this is important. I trust Aimee."

"If I walk down this path with you, I lose whatever is left of me," she sighs, looking away. I smile and sit back because that is the funniest thing she's ever said to me.
