Chapter 130
Chapter 130
Nina hadn’t slept for two days straight, so when she finally crashed, she slept for over a dozen hours. When she woke up, the second and third branches of the Swanson family had already left.
Joanna and Hazel were still holed up in their room and hadn’t come out.
Maybe it was because Nina had been so ruthless with Carl, but everyone in the main branch, both the family and the servants, avoided her like the plague. No one dared to talk to her.
As soon as Nina came downstairs, the servants who had been lounging around quickly got up and started bustling about, even if it was just to look busy.
“Ms. Swanson, I asked Laura to make some porridge. Would you like some?” Anna, the butler, wasn’t intimidated by Nina like the rest. In fact, she seemed almost pleased.
Sarah had raised three sons and two daughters; and there were enough grandchildren to fill a whole table at a family feast. But when Sarah’s life was on the line, only Nina dared to stand up for her and seek justice.
Nina might come off as a bit cold, but she and Sarah were definitely alike. If someone treated them well, they’d always go the extra mile in return. They were both protecting each other in their own way. That was pretty great.
Everyone thought Nina was just leaning on Ryan, but after all that went down, Anna couldn’t help but think Nina had got some real skills of her own.
If she didn’t have some real tricks up her sleeve, there’s no way she could’ve found out what was used to poison Sarah and even managed to cure her in no time.
Sure, she hadn’t figured out who actually did the poisoning, but when Nina said there was no need to keep investigating, Anna was pretty sure she already knew exactly who it was.
Nina nodded. “You’re very thoughtful, Anna.” She hadn’t slept or eaten in two days. This porridge was just what she needed.
Anna immediately had Laura bring out the porridge and then smiled. “Ms. Swanson, it’s the least I can do.” After a moment, Anna continued, “Oh, and Mrs. Sarah Swanson’s able to eat now.
“With Dr. Berger and the others taking care of her, she’s recovering well. She wanted me to tell you that you’ve been exhausted these past few days, so stop worrying about her and get some proper rest yourself.”
“I’m feeling better now,” Nina said, taking the porridge from Laura and giving her a quick thanks. “I’ll go check on her in a
bit.”
“Alright,” Anna replied. Anna didn’t try to stop Nina. After spending time with her, she had figured out that Nina was the type who stuck to her guns.
Once Nina made a decision, nobody could change her mind. Maybe only Sarah’s words could ever sway her.
After finishing her porridge, Nina went to Sarah’s room.
Dr. Berger and his crew really knew their stuff. With them personally taking care of Sarah these past few hours, she was looking really good.
Nina pushed open the door and stepped inside. “Grandma.”
Sarah smiled and beckoned her over. “Didn’t I tell you to get some rest? You just couldn’t stay away, could you?”
Nina grinned. “I just missed you, so I had to come by and see how you’re doing.”

Chapter 130
Sarah’s heart melted, and she almost teared up right then and there. She couldn’t help but think she was so lucky to have Nina to be her granddaughter. She sniffled and quickly blinked away her tears, not wanting Nina to notice and worry.
After chatting with Sarah for a while, Nina stood up and bowed to Dr. Berger and his two colleagues. “Thank you all for everything you’ve done.”

The three of them quickly reached out to stop her. “Oh, please. Mr. Foster invested 150 million in our institute just to get us here, but honestly, we didn’t do much at all. We really don’t deserve your thanks.”
Nina skipped the formalities and took out several small bottles and a stack of notes. “These bottles have the antidote for my grandma’s poisoning, pills for healing wounds, detox pills, and some other meds for different conditions.
“They’re sorted by type, but there’s not a lot, so just take what you need.”
Gesturing to the other papers, she added, “These are some of my acupuncture methods and a few tricky cases I’ve handled. They’re yours, no charge.”
Dr. Berger and his two colleagues were over the moon. They never thought that coming here would land them not only Ryan’s investment, but also a bunch of pills that the Miracle Doctor herself had created.
