Chapter 133
Chapter 133
“Get things now, or I’ll kill you,” the leader threatened.
“Alright, I’m getting them,” Simon said, keeping his tone steady. He turned around, and his smile vanished, replaced by a cold, hard look.
He moved forward slowly, and just as he was about to reach the door, he suddenly twisted to the side, dodging the gun aimed at the back of his head, and flung a handful of powder straight into the leader’s face.
The leader realized what was happening and tried to fire, but in an instant, he collapsed to the floor.
Simon grabbed the gun in a flash, fired a shot into the leader’s thigh, then dove out the window and made a run for it:
Outside, a bunch of guys rushed in, looking totally freaked out. Everyone was about to rush after Simon when suddenly, one of them snapped, “Half of you, go after him. The rest, with me, find those potions. Stay focused, this is what we came for.”
Meanwhile, Nina was already on her way when she got Simon’s call. As soon as Dr. Berger and the others left, Nina headed straight for Scarlet’s place.
Scarlet had never been this serious with her before: The potions meant everything to Scarlet. Nina had to get her hands on them, no matter what.
But Ryan had been at Scarlet’s place for more than ten hours now, and there hadn’t been a single update. Nina couldn’t shake the feeling that something was seriously wrong.
It only took an hour and a half to drive from the Swanson residence to Scarlet’s place. There was no way he should’ve been out of touch for this long.
Nina gunned the motorcycle, pushing it to its limit. About three miles from Scarlet’s place, Nina had just pulled in when she spotted Simon running desperately. His arm wounded, with a group of men in black chasing after him.
Nina narrowed her eyes, pulled a sharp drift, and stopped right in front of Simon. “Get on.”
Simon’s eyes lit up when he saw Nina, and he jumped onto the bike without hesitation. Before Nina could say a word, he handed her the gun he was holding.
Nina fired up the bike, one hand gripping the handlebars, the other firing off shots. Her aim was deadly. Almost every shot hit its mark. The guys in black didn’t stand a chance. One after another, they went down, hit by her bullets.
“Nina, hurry, save Ryan. He’s been poisoned,” Simon said when he saw all the guys in black were down.
“Poisoned?” Nina’s eyes went ice-cold, a deadly vibe rolling off her.
Simon looked guilty. “He got shot saving me. Their bullets were poisoned.”
But the one that hit his arm wasn’t poisoned. If it were, he wouldn’t have made it this far. Guess they wanted him alive so they could get the potions, and didn’t risk poisoning him in case he died before handing them over.
Nina didn’t say a word. She just gunned the engine, pushing the bike even faster. Five minutes later, they pulled up outside Scarlet’s place. Nina followed Simon and rushed straight to the basement.
The courtyard looked like it had been completely ransacked. Anything that could be taken apart had been ripped to shreds.
Nina’s face was cold as she followed Simon down to the basement. The basement door was wide open.

Chapter 133
Simon’s face went pale. He dragged Ryan out first and then dashed back in to check. “Shit. They took the potions.”
Those guys had been tearing the place apart all night and still couldn’t find the basement. But after he and Ryan moved things to search the basement, they must’ve gotten tipped off somehow, so they found it, too.
Nina ignored him, went straight to Ryan, placed her fingers on his wrist to check his pulse, and then calmly fed him an antidote pill. After that, she hoisted Ryan onto her back and carried him over to Simon’s car.
Once they were in the car, Nina’s gaze swept over the wrecked courtyard, her eyes cold and murderous. A bloodthirsty smile tugged at her lips. “You’d better hide well, because if I find you, you won’t live to regret it.”
