Chapter 134

Nina got in her car and headed straight for the Foster residence.

“Mr. Foster, Mrs. Foster, Mr. Ryan Foster is hurt,” the maid cried out, rushing over as soon as she saw Nina carrying Ryan in.

Maria jumped up from her seat, but before she could say anything, Nina burst in with Ryan on her back.

“What happened?” Maria stammered, her voice trembling. She always found fault with Ryan, but no matter what, he was still her grandson. Now, seeing him unconscious and pale as a corpse, she was terrified.

Grace gripped Charles’s sleeve, biting her lip, too afraid to speak. She didn’t know what was going on, but she was terrified that her son couldn’t make it.

“He’s been poisoned. Get me a clean room. I need to detoxify him,” Nina said, not bothering to explain further. Detoxifying Ryan was the top priority right now.

“Hurry, get a room ready.” Maria didn’t waste time with questions: She immediately ordered the staff to prepare a room.

After the room was set up, Nina laid Ryan down on the bed.

At that moment, Elaine showed up. She had visited the Foster residence with Nina before, so the staff recognized her and ushered her in. She gave a quick greeting to the elders and headed straight into the room.

“Here’s your med kit, Nina,” Elaine said as she handed it to her.

Nina had called Elaine on her way over, asking her to bring the med kit to the Foster residence. Elaine didn’t waste a second. She rushed over as soon as she got the call.

Nina took the med kit and turned to Simon. “Lie down, I’ll patch you up.”

“No need, it’s just a scratch. Don’t worry about me. Take care of Ryan first,” Simon said.

After he finished speaking, he glanced up at Nina. She didn’t let it show on her face, but he could tell she was really worried about Ryan. Even on the way here, when he tried to carry Ryan, she wouldn’t let him.

He then glanced at Ryan, lying there unconscious on the bed. Honestly, he’d never thought much of Ryan. To him, Ryan was just some pretty boy, always hanging around Nina, acting all soft and needy.

Aside from his money could back Nina up, he didn’t get what was so great about the guy. But this time, his opinion about Ryan began to change. He believed that anyone Nina got her eye on wasn’t just some nobody.

Simon didn’t want to slow Nina down, so he just slipped out of the room. Nina considered for a moment, but in the end, she didn’t insist on patching Simon up.

The bullet didn’t even get lodged in Simon. It just skimmed his arm, leaving him with nothing but a superficial scratch. Any clinic could handle a wound like that.

Nina sat down and, using the tools from the med kit, carefully removed the bullet from Ryan’s body. After that, she got to work with her needles, starting acupuncture treatment.

Ryan had been poisoned with something vicious. If nobody did anything, he’d be dead in an hour, no question. Luckily, Nina got there just in time. After she gave him the detox pill, the worst of the poison was already fading.

This stuff was nasty, but Nina had handled this kind of poison before and even had the antidote ready to go.

Once she finished acupuncture, Nina carefully fed Ryan the antidote she’d brought, exactly what he needed for the poison

in his system.

After that, Nina wrote out a prescription and handed it to Felix, who had shown up at some point. “Have him take these meds for a week, and do the medicinal bath for three days.”

Ryan already had instructions for the medicinal bath. Nina had given them to him before.

Felix nodded, sending one of his trusted men to get the medicine. Then he turned to Nina. “The hit on Ryan came from the Blood Reaper Organization. I’ve already got the roads locked down. We’re not letting those bastards get away.”

“Blood Reaper Organization?” Nina frowned, her mind spinning.

She thought, ‘What is Scarlet really up to? First, it was the poisons, and now the Blood Reaper Organization. Just what kind of mess is she tangled in? And that phone call the other day. Scarlet had sounded like she was saying her last goodbyes.

Nina narrowed her eyes, suspicion flickering in her gaze. She thought, ‘So, sending me back to the Swanson family was Scarlet’s plan from the very beginning.

‘She wanted to get me out of the way. She didn’t want me to get caught up in all this.’
