Inside the villa, Nina sat in front of a bunch of paintings, with no choice but to look at them.

Not far away, Hazel kept glancing over at Morgan across from her. Morgan was totally absorbed in his own painting

He honestly thought she’d mess with him like always this time.

Morgan just stared at her. He said, “I knew you were up to no good coming here yourself.

Hooking him up with a student was something Nina could’ve done over a phone call, but this time she actually showed up in person, dragging someone along.

Morgan thought, ‘See? Her real intentions are finally exposed.

Nina got up from the stack of paintings and said, “Enough talk. Are you taking her as your apprentice or not?”

“Sure thing!” Morgan answered right away. He said, “I mean, I’ll have someone to help out from now on. Why not? But…”

Before Morgan could finish, Nina turned to Hazel and said, “What are you standing there for? Hurry up and call Master.”

Hazel couldn’t believe her ears.

She thought, ‘Is Morgan really going to take me as his disciple?

‘Is this for real? Am I dreaming).

‘Didn’t he just act like I wasn’t worth his time a moment ago?’

Nina raised an eyebrow and said, “What, you don’t want him as your master? Suit yourself. I’ll just go find you another one.”

Morgan was staring Hazel down, eyes wide and unblinking.

“No, no!” Hazel yelped, totally freaked out. She said, “I do. I really, really do.”

She was not an idiot. With a master as awesome as Morgan, how could she ever say no?

Plus, Morgan looked like he was ready to bite her head off. If Hazel even hesitated, he’d probably blow up right then and

there.

Nina grabbed the rest of the red wine and said, “Alright. Let him pay for the apprenticeship party”

Morgan called after her, tlustered, “Hey, I wasn’t done talking yet!”

Nina stopped in her tracks and said, “A master wouldn’t be that stingy, would you?”

Morgan grumbled inwardly, ‘Of course, I’m stingy

You shameless thing, how much stutt have you snatched from me already?

If I didn’t watch out, you’d have cleaned me out by now.

But seeing the hopeful look on Hazel’s face, Morgan gritted his teeth and said, “Fine, I’ll pay,”

Hazel wanted to say, “No need,” but she knew that would just embarrass Nina.

Plus, she and her mom were really strapped for cash. Even her school fees were all covered by the Swansons.
