Matthew’s face went pale. He tried to pry Nina’s hands off, but her grip was like iron.

With no other option, he reached for the steering wheel.

But Nina yanked him into the back seat, leaving him unable to reach the wheel.

Matthew gritted his teeth. “Are you out of your mind?”

“Out of my mind?” Nina flashed a wicked grin. “Didn’t you do your homework before coming back? I’m clinically insane, my dear Matthew.”

“Oh, really?” Nina smirked.

She flipped into the driver’s seat, spun the wheel, and slammed on the brakes just as the truck in front was about to hit them.

Once the car stopped, Matthew was gasping for air.

Before he could catch his breath, Nina flung open the door and booted him out of the car.

Then she got out, shoved Matthew into the back seat, and slid back behind the wheel.

She fired up the engine, caught sight of Matthew’s ghostly pale face in the rearview mirror, and said, “Welcome back to the Swanson family, Matthew. I’ve got a present for you too. Hope you’re ready for it.”

With that, she slammed on the gas.

The car shot forward, hitting its top speed of 174 mph in an instant.

Matthew wasn’t prepared. He was flung across the back seat, his head crashing hard against the door.

Nina sneered, “Matthew, better buckle up.”

“You…” Matthew went white as a sheet, reaching for the seatbelt. But before he could grab it, Nina jerked the wheel, tossing him around like a ragdoll.

Lucky for him the door was locked, or he’d be roadkill by now.

Matthew braced himself against the door, then flashed a grin. “Damn, this is wild! Hit me with more!”

He barely finished before Nina spun the wheel again, sending Matthew tumbling all over the back seat.

He had no idea how long they’d been tearing down the road, or how many times he’d been tossed around the back seat. One thing was certain. He never managed to grab the seatbelt, not even once.

Everything hurt, like his bones were about to break.

Nina’s lips curled into a wicked smirk. She kept her foot on the gas, heading straight for the edge without slowing down.

As they were about to reach the cliff, Matthew shouted, “I bet you don’t have the guts to go down with me!”

“Oh, really?” Nina smirked.

Without a second thought, she drove straight off the edge, sending the car flying over the cliff.

As the car shot off the edge, Matthew’s bravado vanished. He screamed, “Stop! Hit the brakes!”

But it was too late. The car was already airborne, and there was no stopping it now.

Just when Matthew thought he was done for, the car somehow landed in one piece.

Matthew slumped back into his seat, white as a sheet. “You maniac!”

He cursed under his breath.

It wasn’t really a cliff, just looked like one from above. In reality, there was only a flat clearing down below.

But for a moment there, Matthew genuinely thought Nina would drag him to his death.

Nina turned and shot him a scornful look. “You want me to die with you? Dream on. You’re not even qualified.”

With that, she faced forward, started the car again, and said, “This game isn’t over yet. Buckle up and enjoy.”

Then she slammed on the gas, sending the car shooting forward at full speed,

By the time the car screeched to a stop at the Swanson residence, Matthew had puked up everything he ate for lunch, and then kept going.

By the end, he was just dry-heaving, spitting up nothing but stomach acid.

He had no clue how he even got out of the car. His legs were jelly, and he could barely walk.

Vivian was the first to rush over when she saw him. “Matthew, what happened to you?”

Matthew grabbed Vivian’s hand, leaning on her for support. He gave Nina a death glare, but she just looked

calm as ever.

Nina tossed the car keys at Matthew and smirked, “Thanks for the gift, Matthew. I really enjoyed it.”
