“I’m just a guest?” Waverly stared at James in disbelief. “James, am I not your family anymore? Just a guest in your eyes?”

“If you’re not a guest, what are you?” James replied, his face cold. “If you can’t learn to behave, you won’t even have the right to be a guest here.

“Waverly, whatever family ties we had ended years ago. Don’t think you can throw your weight around in my house and bully my daughter just because we’re related. As long as I’m here, you have no right to lecture her.”

“I…” Waverly tried to protest.

“Get out! If you dare make a scene again, you’ll be out the door before you know it!” James roared.

Waverly was seething inside, but seeing the stormy look on James’s face, she could only grit her teeth and choke back her fury.

She thought, ‘Fine. If you treat me like this, don’t blame me for being ruthless.’

Meanwhile, after leaving the Swanson residence, Nina made her way to the nightclub.

It was still early, and the place was empty.

When Nina walked in, Simon was giving the girls a briefing. “Keep the powder I gave you on you at all times. If things get dangerous, just throw it out. Your safety comes first.

“And from today on, no one is allowed to go out with clients. If you notice anything off about a client, let me know immediately.

“I’ll arrange for someone to train you in self-defense. You’d better work your asses off. Anyone who slacks off, don’t blame me for coming down hard.

“Remember, no matter what happens, your safety is the top priority. If you can’t fight, run. From now on, I don’t want to see any more girls go missing. Got it?”

As soon as Simon finished, the girls all answered in unison, “Got it!”

When Simon saw Nina come in, he told the girls to take a break.

Then he walked over to Nina, his expression serious. “That’s the fifth girl now. Every single one just disappeared silently. No warning, no leads, nothing at all.”

Nina sat down with an icy look. “Hand me the info on the missing girls.”

Simon handed over the files he’d already put together.

Nina took the files, her face serious as she looked them over.

After a long silence, Nina finally spoke. “None of the girls are from around here.”

The nightclub took on new girls every few months.

Most of them were from out of town.

They came from poor families, couldn’t afford school, and were desperate for money.

And all the missing girls came from out of town.

They were from places at least 600 miles away from Riverdale.

“That’s right,” Simon said. “I had my subordinates check with their families, but none of them ever went back. I even looked into their travel records, and there’s no sign any of them ever left Riverdale.”

“Who did they see last before they went missing?” Nina asked, her voice cold and sharp.

“They were all with clients right before they disappeared,” Simon said, frowning. “The clients left, and then the girls were just… gone. And it all happened inside the club. I checked every room. They’re locked down tight, no way in or out without someone noticing.”

“Have you talked to those clients yet?” Nina pressed.

“Yeah, I did,” Simon said. “They were all pretty wasted. They just vaguely remember finishing up and heading out. After that, they don’t know a thing.”

Simon paused, his voice low. “Do you think something bad happened to them? And we still haven’t heard a thing about those other girls who vanished before.”

Nina narrowed her eyes. “Go find Falconer. Tell her to use the assassin network to look into it.”
