Right after Nina spoke, the bodyguards slammed Theodore down to the ground.

Max Griffin, the bodyguard captain, drove his foot into Theodore’s leg.

Everyone heard a sickening crack, the unmistakable sound of bone snapping.

“Ouch!” Theodore couldn’t help but howl in agony.

Max pressed his foot down on Theodore’s shattered leg, speaking in a level, almost indifferent tone. “Just do what Ms. Swanson tells you. Don’t push her patience.”

“Dad!” Vance Campbell, who’d been quietly watching from the sidelines, suddenly dashed forward. But before he could even reach Theodore, the bodyguards instantly restrained him.

Vance yelled, “Let go of me! I’m the Campbell family’s heir. Touch me and you’re dead!”

But the bodyguards didn’t even bother to look his way, standing there like nothing had happened.

“You bastards!” Kelsey shot to her feet, her face twisted with fury. “You’ve gone way too far. How dare you break my son’s leg? Sarah, is this really how the Swanson family welcomes their guests?”

Just as Sarah was about to speak, Nina interrupted, “The Swanson family has its own way of hospitality. If you cooperate and get this divorce done, for the sake of your family ties with Hazel, we’ll make sure you leave with your dignity intact.”

Nina’s face turned cold. “But if you refuse to get the divorce done, since you’re already in Riverdale, Riverdale Hospital would be happy to welcome you.

“The Swanson family will show you real hospitality. We’ll book you a luxury hospital room. How long do you think you’ll be staying?”

She glanced down at Theodore, who was clutching his leg in pain. “A month, maybe? I heard Kelsey’s birthday party is coming up soon. Why don’t we host it for you, right here at Riverdale Hospital? How does that sound?”

“You!” Kelsey’s face turned ashen with rage. “Who the hell do you think you are? Since when did you get to call the shots in the Swanson family? Theodore is still your uncle. Aren’t you afraid karma will come for you?”

“Uncle?” Nina let out a cold laugh. “Does he even deserve that title?”

Kelsey didn’t bother arguing with Nina anymore. She turned to Sarah and snapped, “My son was attacked in your home. You’d better give me an explanation, or this isn’t over between us. If I don’t see the Swanson family ruined, I swear I won’t rest!”

Sarah frowned, but before she could say anything, Nina chimed in with a breezy, almost mocking tone, “My grandma’s health isn’t great. If you piss her off and something happens, you might be the ones needing a permanent address change.”

Nina paused for a beat then smirked. “Riverdale Cemetery’s got plenty of space. Interested in a long-term

Kelsey was so furious she could barely speak. Knowing she couldn’t win against Nina, she turned to Joanna. “You little bitch, so you’re just gonna stand there and watch Theodore get pushed around?”

Joanna kept her head down, saying nothing.

Vance finally spoke up. “Mom! What’s with all this drama? You messed up, so Dad just wanted to teach you a lesson and sent you back to your family for a bit.

“He was waiting for you to own up to it, and then he’d bring you home. But you just left and never came back. Are you really going to walk out on Dad? What about me, your own son?”

“Or are you seeing someone else? Is that why you’re letting them treat us like this?” Vance frowned. “Just pack your stuff and come home with us, now.

“I’ll talk to Dad and Grandma, and we’ll let today slide. But if you keep this up, I can’t help you anymore.”

Joanna finally lifted her head, staring at Vance. A mocking smile played on her lips. “So this is my wonderful son. You really are something.”

Theodore barked, “Did you not hear what Vance just said? Get your stuff together and come with me right now. Go back and apologize to Evelyn, and this whole thing will be done with. You’ll still be my wife.”

Joanna walked right up to Theodore, looking down at him. “Theodore, I married you when my career was at its peak. You said you didn’t want me in the spotlight, so I quit the spotlight to play the perfect housewife for

you.

“And how did you all treat me? In just two years, you cheated on me with my best friend, and you two had sex right in our marital bed. You were the one who messed up, but somehow, your whole family blamed me.
