Sarah sneered. “I never believe in favoritism without a reason. Vivian’s obsession with Lily must have a reason behind it.

“As for what that reason is, we’ll have to find out ourselves. For instance, how did Vivian even come across Lily back then? Where exactly did she take her abroad? And how did she manage to make Lily imitate Nina so perfectly?”

If Lily hadn’t resembled Nina so closely, Sarah would have long suspected she wasn’t her granddaughter.

Nina had always lived with Sarah as a child, so Sarah knew her temperament and character inside out. But ever since Vivian took her daughter abroad without telling Sarah, the girl hadn’t been as close to Sarah.

Even though she wasn’t as close, she still retained some old habis. Sarah had assumed it was because her granddaughter had spent a few years overseas and had grown distant. That was until the truth about Lily not being James’s daughter came to light.

It was a sudden discovery, made during a routine medical checkup.

The Swansons had annual medical exams. Blood types had never been an issue before, but a few months ago, Lily’s report showed she was type O.

James was type A, and Vivian was AB. It was impossible for them to have a child with type O blood. Sarah immediately went to the hospital to verify, and the results confirmed it: Lily truly had type O blood.

As for why previous reports had listed AB, the hospital suggested that someone might have tampered with them. Investigations were ongoing, but so far, nothing had been concluded.

Since then, Sarah finally understood the mystery that had plagued her for years.

Her granddaughter hadn’t grown distant because of a few years abroad; she had been switched.

Vivian’s claim that the children had been swapped at birth was laughable. If that were true, Sarah would never have spent all those years with Nina. She knew her years with Nina before she was six had been real, not some dream.

When Nina was finally brought back, the granddaughter she had loved since childhood stood before her, and Sarah felt something undeniable-that was the bond of blood. Her granddaughter was irreplaceable by anyone.

Vivian’s explanation was full of holes, and her way of protecting Lily only fueled Sarah’s doubts.

Sarah suspected that Lily might be the child of Vivian and someone else, which was why she secretly conducted a DNA test. The results proved Lily wasn’t Vivian’s child.

Right now, only by finding Lily’s parents could they understand what Vivian truly intended.

“You don’t need to worry,” Bill said, noticing the anger in Sarah’s eyes. “I’ll personally oversee all of this. You can trust me,”

Sarah’s anger subsided a little. “Keep a close eye on Vivian. Lily didn’t get engaged to Ryan, and I’m worried Vivian might do something to Nina again.”

“Understood,” Bill replied.

Ryan’s parents and grandparents went back to the Foster residene with cold faces, and Ryan followed behind them wearing the same gloomy look.

Grace, Ryan’s mother, glanced back at him and finally couldn’t old it in. She burst out laughing. “Honey, I really regret not taking a picture of our son’s pathetic face at the engagement party,” she told Ryan’s father, Charles.

Then she gave Ryan another mocking look. “Look at that blank face. Sometimes I wonder if I actually had twins. The pathetic guy in front of Nina must be the other son I hid somewhere.”

Ryan shot her a glance and walked straight to the couch. He sat down, crossed his legs, and asked calmly. “You don’t want your perfume anymore?

Grace’s smile froze. Then she grabbed Charles’s arm and whined “Honey, you need to do something about

Charles patted her hand, his eyes full of affection. “If he refuses to buy it for you, I’ll beat him.

“Beat me?” Ryan smiled. “Dad, are you sure you can beat me up?”
