The Carroll brothers got up and got ready to head to the hospital with Nina.

Nina was going to ask Simon to take care of it.

But things were hectic at the club, and Simon was busy looking out for the girls, so he just didn’t have the time.

Elaine instantly woke up. “Don’t worry, I’ll handle it myself. No one else will touch it.”

Nina was speechless.

‘Ryan’s back? Did he finish up his business?’ she wondered.

Nina’s eyes twinkled with amusement as she listened to Elaine rant and cry

“Alright, I’ll bring you a gift when I get back,” Nina promised,

“And you have to give Ryan a hard time for me!” Elaine grumbled.

Nina cleared her throat, “Okay, I’ll get back at him for you.”

“I knew it! Nina, you love me best!” Elaine cheered.

Elaine hung up, humming a happy tune.

Nina looked at her phone as the screen went dark and shook her head helplessly.

Just then, Cheney pulled up in the black sedan. Nina put her phone away and headed toward the car.

They went to the hospital.

Loren had been moved out of the ICU and into a regular room. Russell had arrived early to give him a thorough check-up.

Philip had come to the hospital with Russell early that morning. Now, he was standing outside the room, craning his neck toward the entrance, muttering to himself, “Why aren’t they here yet?”

Russell shot Philip a sideways glance, feeling a bit speechless.

Ever since Philip had witnessed Nina’s skills in the operating room yesterday, he’d been too excited to sleep. He’d shown up, at Russell’s door early this morning with dark circles under his eyes, scaring Russell half to death when he opened the door.

“Dr. Jefferson, why isn’t Ms. Swanson here yet?” Philip turned around, his eyes sparkling as he looked at Russell.

“Just wait a little longer,” Russell replied.

Philip sighed, propping his chin in his hands. “If I asked Ms. Swanson to let me be her disciple, do you think she’d say yes?”

Russell couldn’t help but smirk at that.

‘Nice try,’ Russell thought. ‘Miracle Doctor isn’t just going to take anyone in. Besides, aren’t you already Dr. Berger’s student?

‘You really think Dr. Berger would ever let you go?’

Just then, a slender figure stepped out of the elevator. Philip’s eyes lit up, and he bolted over like a rocket.

“Ms. Swanson, let me be your apprentice!” he shouted.

Nina had just stepped out of the elevator when Philip suddenly charged straight at her.

She nearly stumbled.

Nina frowned, her voice serious. “What do you think you’re doing?”

“I want to be your apprentice!” Philip exclaimed.

“Not happening,” Nina shot back.

Nina kept her eyes straight ahead and strode right past Philip without a second look.

Philip refused to give up and quickly caught up to her.

“Ms. Swanson, just take me as your apprentice! I know I’m not the most talented, but I’m really hardworking!” he begged.
