Chapter 191
Chapter 191
“Ms. Swanson…” he kept calling after her.
Philip hovered around Nina like an annoying fly, and Nina’s face was getting icier by the minute.
“Russell,” Nina called out.
She walked into the room and gave him a big, bright grin.
Russell’s heart thudded in his chest.
Anyone who knew Nina knew that the bigger her smile, the worse her mood was.
She was right on the edge of losing it.
“You’re bothering Ms. Swanson. Get lost,” Russell snapped.
He dragged Philip out by the collar.
“Dr. Jefferson, let me go! I want to learn from Ms. Swanson!” Philip protested, struggling in Russell’s grip.
“Dream on. In your dreams, anything’s possible,” Russell retorted.
Russell shot Philip a frosty glare before slamming the door, shutting out all the noise from outside.
Philip grumbled, still glaring at the tightly shut door, clearly unwilling to give up.
Suddenly, someone poked him a couple of times on the shoulder.

Philip turned to see Romeo watching him with wide-eyed curiosity. “Aren’t you already Dr. Berger’s student? Why are you still trying to get Miracle Doctor to take you on as an apprentice?”
Philip gave Romeo a confused look. “Yeah, I’m Dr. Berger’s student, but that doesn’t mean I can’t ask Miracle Doctor to take me as a disciple, right?”
Romeo was at a loss for words.
‘He’s not wrong, but something about this just feels kinda weird,’ Romeo thought.
Inside the room, Nina worked her magic with the needles on Loren, then ran some routine checks. She was pretty sure the operation went perfectly, and expected Loren to come around by tonight.
After tidying up, Nina grabbed a wet wipe to clean her hands. When she opened the door, she was greeted by Philip, who looked just like a Samoyed wagging its tail, waiting eagerly for her.
Nina was speechless.
She ignored Philip and walked straight out of the room, turning to the Carroll brothers. “Loren’s basically fine. He should wake up tonight. If you have any questions about his recovery, just ask Russell.”
Cheney gave a firm nod. “Got it.”
Nina glanced at her phone. “I’ve got something to take care of, so I’ll head out now.”
She was texting as she hurried toward the elevator.
“Ms. Swanson, are you heading back to Riverdale? I can give you a ride,” Cheney called out, quickly catching up to her.

Nina paused for a moment. The airport wasn’t far from here, and having Cheney drive her would save her the hassle of finding a ride.
With that in mind, Nina turned to Cheney, a faint smile tugging at her lips. “Then I’ll have to trouble you, Mr. Carroll.”
“It’s my pleasure,” Cheney replied.
Cheney nodded and was about to follow Nina when he suddenly felt a tug at his pant leg. Looking down, he saw Philip pulling at his pants, gazing up at him with those classic puppy eyes, just like a Samoyed begging for attention.
Cheney was left speechless.
“Ahem, Ms. Swanson,” Cheney cleared his throat, gesturing at Philip, who was tagging along behind Nina like her little shadow. “Looks like Mr. Shannon is really desperate to be your apprentice.”
Nina raised an eyebrow and glanced back at Philip.
“You really want to be my apprentice?” she asked.
“Yes!” Philip stood up straight like a soldier, giving Nina those sparkling puppy-dog eyes, hoping she’d say yes.
‘Honestly, he’s just like a Samoyed puppy,’ Nina thought.
Nina’s lips curled into a faint smile. “You really think Dr. Berger would agree to that?”
“I’ll ask him right now! Just give me ten minutes!” Philip blurted out enthusiastically.
With that, Philip whipped out his phone and dialed Paul’s number.
“Hello?” Paul finally picked up after several rings.
“Dr. Berger, I want to become Miracle Doctor’s apprentice!” Philip shouted into the phone, practically bouncing with excitement.
