On the third floor of the hospital’s inpatient wing, the Lowell family had taken over almost the entire row of rooms.

Moans and wails filled the air, while Stella sat in Vivian’s room, her face clouded with gloom.

“Mom, we can’t just let them get away with this! The Swanson family only has the guts to mess with us because Ryan’s got their back!” Vivian glared at her mother, her eyes bloodshot and her face twisted in pain.

Stella snarled, her voice thick with hatred. “No way we’re letting this slide. If the Swanson family wants to throw decency out the window and come at us, I’ll make sure they regret it! The Lowell family isn’t some pushover!”

“If it weren’t for Ryan, they’d never dare pull this kind of stunt on us!” Vivian spat.

She thought, ‘Either Ryan’s gone blind, or Nina’s got some serious skills when it comes to men. She’s got the head of Foster Group wrapped around her finger.

‘Guess I really underestimated Nina. She was raised by a nightclub hostess. No wonder she’s got a knack for playing men.’

“Hmph, Ryan’s just caught up in the moment. Once he gets bored, Nina and the Swanson family will be at our mercy!” Stella snorted.

Just then, a servant slipped in and leaned in to whisper something in Stella’s ear.

Her eyes lit up with a sharp glint, and she slapped her thigh. “Perfect!”

“Mom, what’s going on?” Vivian asked.

Stella waved the servant away, and then said coldly, “Ryan’s left Seabridge, and Elaine’s tied up with her own mess. Now the Swanson family’s got no one to back them up.”

“Mom, you mean…?” Vivian’s eyes lit up, hope flickering in her voice.

Stella shot to her feet and strode out of the room.

“You just stay here and heal up. As for the Swanson family, it’s time to make them bleed,” Stella said, her tone icy and

resolute.

At Riverdale Central Park.

In a pavilion in the middle of the lake, Stella leaned on her cane, gazing out at the clear blue water, her eyes filled with quiet contemplation.

Hearing footsteps behind her, she turned to see who was coming, a trace of triumph curling at her lips. “You’re here.”

James looked at the old woman in front of him, his eyes full of impatience. “What exactly do you want?”

Stella snapped, “What, not even respecting me as your mother-in-law anymore? Vivian has been married to you for years, given you children. I’m still your mother-in-law, no matter what!

“And now you side with outsiders to bully your own in-laws? James, you’re a real piece of work!”

James’s face went pale, his eyes burning with hatred as he staged at Stella. If she weren’t an old lady and they weren’t in a public park, he would’ve already thrown a punch.

Stella’s eyes flashed with menace as she stepped closer, cane tapping the ground. She leaned in and hissed in James’s ear, “One little move from me, and you, and your whole Swanson family, will be finished.

“The whole city will be laughing at you.”
