Ryan stood close, taking his time as he stripped off his clothes piece by piece, showing off his toned, muscular body.

Nina’s fiery gaze swept over his ripped chest and abs, and she couldn’t help but swallow.

“Ma’am, are you satisfied with my body?” Ryan teased.

Ryan watched Nina’s reaction with a satisfied smirk, and then leaned in, his long fingers slowly undoing her pajama buttons one by one. His warm touch skimmed over her soft skin, setting off sparks wherever he went.

A mischievous glint flashed in Nina’s eyes. She suddenly flipped the script, rolling him over and taking charge, pinning Ryan beneath her.

“Not bad. Let me give you a proper inspection first,” Nina grinned wickedly, her slender fingers setting off sparks right where it counted.

“Then you’d better make it a thorough one,” Ryan murmured, wrapping his arms around her waist and capturing her lips in a deep kiss.

After that, things got way too hot to put into words.

The next morning.

The sun slowly rose, casting a warm glow over the room.

Nina opened her eyes and saw Ryan propped up on one arm, lying on his side, idly twirling a strand of her hair between his fingers.

“Nina, did I satisfy you last night?” Ryan’s voice was thick with temptation.

Nina shot him a sideways glance. “Your skills are slipping.”

Ryan’s smile froze for a moment, and then he gave a devilish grin. “Guess I didn’t quite satisfy you, huh, Nina?”

With that, he rolled over, pinning her beneath him. “Then I’ll jus have to keep going until you are.”

Nina was speechless.

She cursed inwardly, ‘Damn it!

I’m losing control again.

Every time she stayed with him, she just lost it.

Ryan was totally fired up by Nina’s teasing, and this time he went wild, so intense that Nina could barely catch her breath.

Suddenly, her phone’s ringtone blared, sharp and abrupt.

They were speechless.

Nina rolled over, flopped right on top of Ryan like he was her personal pillow, and reached for her phone on the nightstand.

After she heard whatever was said on the other end, Nina’s expression turned icy.

She just replied, “Got it.”

After hanging up, Nina got up and started getting dressed.

“Nina…” Ryan gave her a pitiful look, eyes full of longing.

He was still burning up inside.

Nina sighed, helpless. “Quit it. Falconer just spotted Scarlet in Frontierland.”

She shot off a cold reply, and then tossed her phone onto the nightstand without a second thought.

“Scarlet’s in Frontierland?” Ryan’s face turned serious.

“Yeah, but Falconer’s guys aren’t really familiar with Scarlet. They just caught a glimpse of a woman in a red dress, so they’re not sure if it was her,” Nina said.

The second Nina heard Scarlet was in Frontierland, the fire Ryan lit in her just got doused with ice water. She actually felt a little anxious for once.

Normally, no matter what happened, she could always stay cool and think things through.

But now, with Scarlet mixed up in that freaky mutation drug business, and barely any intel to go on, she actually felt uneasy and restless for once.

Ryan tamped down the fire inside, got dressed, and turned to Nima, his face serious. “Almost forgot to tell you. We finally found out who drugged my mom last time.”

Nina’s fingers froze for a second. “Who was it?”

“My mom’s best friend,” Ryan said, lips pressed tight. “Clara Sinclair.”

Nina’s brows furrowed. “Elaine’s aunt?”

Ryan nodded. “According to her, the person who gave her the drug was probably Scarlet.”
