Then she fixed her gaze on Vivian. “Mrs. Swanson, now that you’ve seen how rough your own family can be, are you finally ready to admit you were wrong and apologize to my grandma al my aunt?”
Vivian’s face froze, her eyes burning with resentment as she sho Nina a hateful glare.
If Nina weren’t such a maniac, she’d have taught her a lesson age ago.
She thought, ‘Seriously, who ever heard of a daughter sending her own mother packing back to her family?
‘Is that even something a normal person would do?
‘I’m so pissed.
Was it really wrong for me to refuse to let Joanna stay at the Swanson residence?
Who stays at their parents’ place after getting married?’
Nina actually sent her packing back to her own family, just so she could get a taste of what that’s like.
Honestly, it really sucked.
Ever since she got back, her sisters-in-law were all shooting her dirty looks.
If it weren’t for that, she wouldn’t have been so quick to have her mom pull out that video call and put the pressure on the Swanson family.
“You insolent brat!” Stella barked, her voice trembling with fury as she watched Nina talk back to Vivian. “How dare you speak to your own mother like that? Did you forget all your respect and upbringing?”
“Oh?” Nina raised an eyebrow, a mocking smile playing on her lips. “Grandma, are you planning to school me on respect now?”
When Nina flashed that smile, Sarah and Ethan instinctively shuddered.
‘Oh, no,’ they both thought at the same time.
Whenever Nina smiled like that, something bad would happen.
“What, you think I can’t set you straight?” Stella snapped. “You disrespectful brat, get out of my sight! When the elders are talking, kids like you should keep their mouths shut.”
Nina lifted her gaze, her smile turning sharper and more dangerous. She rose to her feet and strode toward Stella, every step deliberate and unhurried.
Ethan shot up from his seat and ducked behind the chair, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire.
Ryan, hands in his pockets, leaned lazily against the chair where Nina sat, a lazy grin tugging at his lips.
Nina stood her ground right in front of Stella, looking at her wit a calm, steady gaze.
Suddenly, Nina grabbed a handful of Stella’s sparse hair, yanked her forward, and then leaned in close to her ear. “I just love it when someone tries to teach me some manners, Grandma.”
Her voice lifted, full of wicked excitement.
“Nina! What the hell are you doing? Let go of your grandma rig now!” Vivian shot up, her voice shaking with rage.

Lily jumped in, “Nina, she’s still our elder, no matter what. And she’s just here to defend Mom today. You can’t go around hitting her. That’s way out of line!”
Nina shot her a mocking look. “So, you want to teach me some manners, too?”
Lily froze, instinctively stepping back. “I-I’m just saying, don’t do anything rash. No matter what, the Swanson and Lowell families are still in-laws. Violence isn’t going to fix anything.”
‘Damn it, Nina!’ Lily cursed inwardly.
She’d been carefully timing everything, pulling strings behind the scenes to make sure the Lowell family wrapped this fast as possible.
She never expected Nina to show up so soon.

“Unbelievable! How dare you!” Stella roared, her voice trembling with rage. “Some granddaughter you raised in the Swanson family. She actually dares to lay hands on her own grandmother
“Clearly, you people have no intention of making peace. Fine! Let’s see who comes out on top in the end!”
“Nina,” Sarah called out, her voice gentle but firm. “Let her go, okay? She’s still your grandma.”
Nina scoffed, yanking Stella’s hair back so her head jerked up. “Listen up, don’t bark at me, Grandma. You’re not getting any younger, and if you lose those teeth, you’ll look even uglier.”
With that, Nina let go of Stella and slid back into her seat. “Word is, you Lowells have your eyes on the secret formula my grandpa left behind?”
