Martin’s face fell. He was about to snap when Lily suddenly grabbed his sleeve and shook her head.

Therefore, Martin took a deep breath and forced down the anger boiling in his chest. In the end, he didn’t say a word and simply watched Nina walk out.

“Really?” Brian let out a sharp laugh. “Strange, because from where I’m standing, you seemed pretty bold. You were lucky our president was willing to give you a shot, and you threw her out.”

“No, that’s not…” Martin tried to explain.

But Brian didn’t give him the chance. “Mr. Swanson, it seems you’re very capable. You probably don’t need SN Corporation’s project. Go find someone else to work with.”

With that, he walked off without looking back, leaving Martin standing there in complete shock.

Martin stayed frozen for a long moment before returning to the office. Lily rushed over. “Martin, how did it go? When will the president meet us?”

Martin slumped into a chair, defeated. “There won’t be a meeting.”

Lily frowned. “What?”

“Mr. Shaw said we kicked out their president and that they’ll never work with us again.” Martin still couldn’t wrap his head around it. When had he ever kicked out SN Corporation’s president?

He hadn’t even seen the president’s face, let alone kicked her out. And he certainly didn’t have the guts.

Lily looked confused too. “We kicked out the president? When? Their president didn’t show up at all today, only…

She suddenly stopped mid-sentence. “Don’t tell me Nina is the president.”

Martin blinked, then shook his head hard. “Impossible. How could a girl raised by a nightclub hostess be the president of SN Corporation? She was just here to mess things up so we wouldn’t get the contract.”

Lily went quiet for a moment before she said, hesitant, “Or maybe Nina offended the president, and Mr. Shaw blamed us for it?”
