Chapter 266

Chapter 266

Sean handed the paternity test results to Nina.

Nina glanced at them and smirked.

Then he tossed the results to William. “Your family really knows how to mess around, huh?”

William was totally floored when he saw the results.

He’d thought that maybe Emily wasn’t Yvonne’s daughter, but now, staring at the truth, he realized just how hard they’d all been duped.

He couldn’t even begin to imagine how David would fall apart if he ever learned the truth.

Jackson and Leon, both standing behind William, were left reeling by the results.

Their jaws dropped, and for a long moment, neither of them could get a word out.

They were at a loss for words.

It was almost impossible to wrap their heads around it.

“Ms. Swanson…” William hesitated for a moment. “Since this is about Miranda, maybe we should let David out and talk. We need to figure out what’s really going on.”

William glanced at Miranda and let out a sigh. “Miranda’s put up with a lot at home over the years. She deserves some real

answers.”

“What’s the hurry?” Nina replied coolly. “I’m trying to teach a child here. We’ll talk when I’m done.”

William was left speechless.

He finally realized that Nina just wanted David to get a taste of his own medicine.

He was done talking.

With things blown up like this, David really needed to get a wake-up call.

He couldn’t even recognize his own daughter, and let her go through all that pain.

He might’ve been clueless, but it all happened because he was to quick to trust others.

If David didn’t learn his lesson, it’d be letting Miranda down after everything she’d gone through all these years.

At the Swanson residence in Riverdale, after breakfast, Hazel was getting ready to see Morgan.

Just as Hazel slid into the car, before she could even shut the dog, Waverly flashed a mischievous smile and hopped in “Off on another adventure, Hazel? Where to this time? Want me to come along?”

Hazel hugged her sketchpad a little tighter and mumbled, “Aunt Waverly, I’m going to draw, not out to play. You really don’t have to come with me.”

These days, after learning from Morgan, Hazel’s art had gotten way better.

Morgan had noticed her progress and suggested she take a break to look for new inspiration, so he told her to hold off on visiting for now.

But Hazel still insisted on going to see Morgan.

Because lately, Waverly had been acting strange, always pullinger aside to chat about random stuff that didn’t matter.

Waverly would ask her where she was headed and what she’d eaten. Sometimes, Waverly would insist on taking her shopping.

Waverly was acting totally out of character lately.

And lately, Vance had been calling her nonstop, trying to get her to hang out, but she’d turned him down every time.

She might not be a genius, but she wasn’t clueless either.

She knew exactly what kind of person Vance was.

Vance had never treated her like a cousin. Ever since they were kids, he’d never once shown her respect.

He was always calling her a burden, saying she was just like her mother, always freeloading off others.

Someone who’d never treated her well suddenly acted all chummy. She knew Vance was definitely up to something.

After her parents split, Vance started getting all close to her. She figured he was just after the 6 million her mother got in the divorce settlement.

When Nina was around, Vance didn’t dare act openly.

But now he’d gotten smarter. He only tried to corner her when Nina wasn’t home.

These past few days, Nina had been out again, but weirdly enough, Vance had gone quiet, and now it was Waverly who was suddenly all up in her business.

Hazel had no idea what Waverly was really after.

All she could do was just avoid her as much as possible.

“Going to draw, huh?” Waverly flashed a smile. “No problem, I’ll just sit nearby and watch. I promise I won’t get in your way. I’m just bored at home, you know?
