Max shook his head, his face darkening. “Nothing.”

It was strange. Max had checked all the security footage in the area, but after Waverly’s car left the Swanson residence, it was like it just vanished without a trace.

He went through every single camera, but couldn’t find a single clue about where they’d gone.

The people the Swanson family sent out to search all came back with nothing. No one had any they’d ended up.

Waverly left the Swanson residence, but there wasn’t a single bit of footage, nothing at all.

It had already been twenty hours since Waverly took Hazel, and the Swanson family had sent out wave after wave of people to look for them, but everyone came back with nothing.

Sarah didn’t even know if Hazel was dead or alive.

She was scared out of her mind.

“Checked every camera, nothing,” Max said, pausing. “Don’t worry, I already called Nina. She’s on her way back. Maybe she’ll figure something out.”

Truth was, Max had no idea what Nina was really up to.

He’d called her, hoping she’d work her hacker magic and track down Waverly.

But all Nina said was that she was heading back, then hung up.

Up till now, Max was still totally in the dark about what Nina was planning.

Sarah blinked in surprise. “Nina is coming back? Do you think she can find Hazel?”

Sarah let out a sigh of relief, about to speak, when Joanna burst in, tears streaming down her face. “Mom, I need 300 million. Please, can you give it to me?”

Sarah froze. “Why do you need that much money?”

Joanna was trembling, looking like she was about to fall apart. She said, “It’s Waverly. She took Hazel and dumped her with a man. She wants 300 million. If she doesn’t get the money in an hour, she’ll let that guy hurt Hazel…

“Mom, I’m begging you, please help me. Hazel is all I have left. If anything happens to her, I can’t live without her.” Joanna dropped to her knees as she spoke.

Sarah was shaking with rage. “That wretch! Hazel is her own niece. How could she be so vicious?”
