Chapter 301
Chapter 301
She could easily tell that the person who said those things to Claire wasn’t Ryan.
She deliberately used that as an excuse to break up with him.
The real reason was that she was falling for him, deeper than she ever expected.
After two years with Ryan, she knew him as well as she knew herself.
Ryan was the same way, and he knew her inside out, too.
The breakup wasn’t because she’d grown bored with Ryan.
It was because she just couldn’t stop herself from falling for him.

Growing up, she’d watched Vivian and James’s marriage play out more like a battlefield than a partnership.
And then there was Scarlet, who kept a man tucked away in her heart, but that man never once appeared before her, no matter how many years went by.
Working at the Midnight Club, she’d seen it all. Married guys cheating on their families, and wives hooking
with young male models just to scratch an itch.

For people like that, love was just another outfit. Change it whenever you’re bored.
Strong as she was, Nina was still human. Everyone had feelings and desires.
In the end, people always end up paying for their own stupidity, all for that joke called love.
Ryan wasn’t like that, and she knew it. But she’d already fallen, hard.
The deeper she fell, the harder it was to pull herself out.
She really didn’t like that feeling.
So she broke up with Ryan. She’d rather stay single forever than let anyone have power over her heart.
But she never expected Ryan to be even clingier than super glue.
Every time she was around him, she just couldn’t help herself.
And now, she had to admit it. She’d completely fallen for him.
Nina let out a sigh at the thought.
She just needed to hang in there a little longer.
Maybe once she made it through this, she could finally let go for good.

Chapter 301
“What’s up, Nina?” Luna asked, noticing her sigh as she caught Nina’s uneasy look.
Nina averted her eyes. “It’s nothing.”
Luna let it go and didn’t ask any more questions.
The car pulled up in front of the Swanson residence.
Luna headed back to her family’s side of the house.

When Nina walked into the main house, Max was waiting for her at the door.
“Ms. Swanson, just like you predicted, Martin and Matthew went into Waverly’s room,” Max whispered in her ear. “Not long after they went in, 600 million was transferred out of Waverly’s account.
“But it didn’t go to Martin or Matthew’s accounts. It went straight to an offshore account.”
Nina’s face was expressionless. “Did we manage to block the transfer?”
Max nodded. “I’ve already talked to the Justice Bureau. Once they intercept it, the money will be returned to your account.”
Nina said, “Let Waverly know about the casino when you get a chance.”
Max hesitated. “She only got into debt because she lost big at the tables.
“Now that she’s finally got the money you gave her, paid off her 150 million debt, and even has some left over, do you really think she won’t go back to the casino?”
Nina let out a cold laugh. “A gambler can never kick the habit. It’s just how they are.”
Especially someone like Waverly, who is completely obsessed.
She’s already blown through nearly 3 billion, even drained the Chase family’s money until there was almost nothing left.
600 million barely scratches the surface of that mess.
The only fast way Waverly knew to get her hands on cash was hitting up the casino.
No way she’d pass up that chance.
“Alright,” Max replied. “I’ll have the guys casually drop the casino’s location when they’re chatting.”
Nina gave a quick nod and walked into the room.
She thought, ‘Let them fight it out.
‘I love watching the drama unfold.’
