Back then, Nina had only just returned, and she acted like everyone else was beneath her, cold, arrogant, and quick to use her fists whenever she felt like it.
Luna figured Nina was just abusing her status as the Swanson family’s heiress to do whatever she pleased.
So Luna really resented Nina deep down.
But after Nina came to her rescue, Luna went out of her way to thank her.
She totally expected Nina to throw some shade or make a snarky comment, but all Nina did was shrug and say, “Wasn’t saving you.”
Luna figured Nina just couldn’t bring herself to admit it.
After that, Luna just couldn’t help but stick to Nina like glue.
The more she hung out with Nina, the more she realized Nina was actually awesome, nothing like what Lily claimed.
Luna thought, ‘I’d totally been played by Lily.’
Truth is, Nina hadn’t even been there for Luna that day.
The guys who grabbed Luna that day were all escaped death row convicts.
They’d been on the run for five years.
The authorities had been hot on their trail, and with no money and nowhere left to go, they decided to rob
Luna as a last resort.
But they just happened to run into Nina.
Nina saving Luna was just her doing what she was supposed to do.
If it had been someone else caught that day, Nina would have saved them all the same. It was just her job.
“What!” Linda cried out. “You actually got mugged? When did this happen? Why didn’t you ever tell me?”
Luna gave an awkward smile. “I didn’t want you to worry, so I didn’t say anything.”
It all happened so fast, and it was over just as quickly.
The media didn’t even have time to show up before Nina had already handled those guys.
The Justice Bureau only announced that a few suspects had been caught, but they didn’t give any details, so most people still have no idea.
“Luna, you nearly scared me to death! How could you keep something this serious from me?” Linda was

Good thing Luna was rescued. Otherwise, Linda would’ve been absolutely devastated.

Luna, worried her mom would start digging for details and get herself worked up, quickly switched gears. “Mom, seriously, can you stop always giving Nina a hard time? She’s nothing like what you think. She’s actually really good to all of us siblings.”
A flicker of embarrassment crossed Linda’s face. “It’s not that I was picking on Nina.
“I was just so fed up with Vivian, who was always flaunting how smart her kid is and acting all superior around us, always comparing Lily to you, and it just gets under my skin.
“Sure, her kid is talented, but so are you. Why should we have to play second fiddle? But back then, we still needed her to share study materials with you, and since she didn’t like Nina, I ended up taking it out on Nina instead.
Luna said, “Vivian is cold as ice. She didn’t even hesitate to abandon her own daughter. Who knows what she’ll do next?
“And Lily, she’s not even family by blood, but Vivian treats her like her own kid. Makes people wonder what she is really after.”
When Linda heard this, she was momentarily stunned. “Oh, that reminds me. Just the other day, I saw Anna taking Lily’s paternity test results into Sarah’s room.
“I eavesdropped a bit, and it sounded like they were saying Lily might actually be the kid of the Lowell family.
“I didn’t catch everything, but do you think Vivian really brought back her brother’s kid just to scam the Swanson family out of their fortune?”
Luna’s jaw dropped. “The Lowell family? That can’t be right. Lily doesn’t look anything like them. How could she be one of them?”
Linda said, waving her hand dismissively. “I really don’t know. I just overheard Sarah mumbling something about the Lowell family, but I didn’t catch the details. Forget it, let’s just stay out of their business.
“I get it now. Nina didn’t come back to the Swanson family for no reason at all. She’s here to settle the score. We should keep our distance from them and just focus on your studies. Don’t let their drama drag you down.”
