347 Chapter 347

347.Chapter 347

Nina watched as the private room door closed, her smile slowly fading

Barry looked at her with concern. He asked, “Nina, are you alrigh

Nina sat down, poured herself another cup of coffee, took a small sip, and replied coolly, “Should I be?”

Barry was at a loss for words.

Barry thought. Your face says it all, you’re definitely not okay.

‘No way she’s fine right now.’

Barry sat down next to Nina, still puzzled. He asked, “If you dont want me to take her on as a student, why go through all that trouble? You could’ve just said no.”

Nina gave him a sidelong look and said, “If I don’t push her a little, her backer won’t show up.”

Lawrence was way too good at hiding.

All Nina knew was his name; she couldn’t dig up a single thing about him.

She needed to find out more.

Lily was the kind who always wanted to stand out.

As an illegitimate daughter nobody recognized, if Lily wanted to earn her way back into the Nicholson family, she had to prove herself.

Nina was going to chip away at Lily’s confidence, bit by bit.

She wouldn’t stop until Lily finally revealed something useful and forced Lawrence to show himself.

Barry clicked his tongue and said, “Honestly, Lily’s just got a bit of street smarts. I doubt she’s got what it takes to make her backer show himself.”

Nina gave a faint, indifferent smile. She replied, “He will, trust me”

The formula for the medicine Samuel left behind.

Martin and his brother were also in the picture.

Even if the Nicholson family won’t admit Lily, their illegitimate daughter, they’ll admit their son.

And since Lily’s main focus was medicine, if she had any sense, she’d use that formula to strike a deal with Lawrence.

But come to think of it, Lily probably wasn’t that sharp.

That didn’t matter, though.

Nina would make sure to nudge her in the right direction.

Meanwhile, after Lily and Vivian got back to the Swanson residence, Lily made up an excuse and headed over to Luna’s place.

The moment Linda saw Lily, her mood soured.

She’d never really liked Lily, and after finding out Lily was scheming against the Swanson family, she hated her guts now.

But she couldn’t let it show.

“Lily, what brings you here at this hour? Shouldn’t you be in bed Linda said, barely bothering to hide her dislike.

Lily didn’t bat an eye at Linda’s attitude. She replied, “Aunt Lindalis Luna home? I’ve got something I need to discuss with her.”

“What is it? She’s about to go to sleep,” Linda said, frowning. “Look, you got into Betrico University, but that doesn’t mean you should get in the way of Luna’s future. Senior year is a big deal, you know that, right?”

Lily’s eyes flashed cold for a second, but she kept her innocent facade. She said, “Aunt Linda, I just need a quick word with Luna, it’s important. I promise I won’t keep her long.”

After a pause, Lily added, “Tell you what, I’ll give her my notes from senior year. I spent all year putting them together, they’ll be super useful for her.”

Linda hesitated for a moment, and then she sa

and don’t stay too long.”

Once Lily went upstairs, Linda scoffed under her breath.

Robert had just come home and noticed Linda looking icy

He looked confused and asked, “What’s with you? Weren’t you pretty fond of Lily before? Why are you always so

standoffish with her lately?”

“Whoever said I liked her?” Linda shot him a glare and said, “I was just being polite for Vivian’s sake. I’ve never liked Lily, not for a second.”

Linda was born into high society herself.

She’d grown up surrounded by intrigue and manipulation.

Lily’s ambitions were written all over her face, even as a kid; there was no way Linda couldn’t see right through her.

Sure, the different branches of the Swanson family all had their own little schemes, but on the surface, everyone played

nice.

Honestly, it was all just a game of pretending; whoever kept up the best facade came out on top.

But now, Linda didn’t care to pretend anymore.

Robert glanced at her and laughed. He said, “That’s so not you. Even when you couldn’t stand it, you’d still put on a front.”

“Guess who I picked it up from? Your niece, Nina,” Linda retorted then suddenly froze.

That’s when she realized that Nina was seriously attractive.

After spending so much time around Nina, Linda’s whole mindset had shifted.

She used to think the less drama, the better, as long as everyone looked good on the surface, that was enough.

But now, if something rubbed her the wrong way, she’d go straight for the jugular.

“Nina? What’s up with her?” Robert asked. He hadn’t been home much lately, so he had no clue what was going on between them.
