Upstairs, Luna was still awake when Lily knocked on her door.

As soon as Lily stepped inside, she grabbed Luna’s hand and asked, “Luna, is my stuff still here?”

Luna’s eyes flickered, then she nodded and said, “Yeah, it’s still here.”

With that, Luna pulled out the file bag.

Lily took the file bag and let out a sigh of relief.

Lily thought, ‘Thank goodness, it’s still here.

‘So Nina didn’t hear about this from Luna after all.

‘Seriously, what’s going on here?

‘No one knows who I really am.

‘How did Nina even figure it out?

‘Just how much does she actually know?’

Lily felt her heart leap into her throat.

Nina wanted to meet her father, but Lily knew there was no way he’d ever show his face.

‘So how am I supposed to get out of this?’ Lily thought, her mind scrambling for a way out.

Lily’s mind was all over the place; she couldn’t even focus enough to talk to Luna. She just grabbed the file and said urgently, “Luna, I’m taking this with me. Please, just keep this between us, alright?”

Luna nodded and said, “Lips are sealed.”

“Thanks,” Lily muttered.

After Lily left, Luna shot Nina a quick message.

It was a sleepless night for many.

Lots of people just couldn’t catch a wink.

That included Martin, Lily, Vivian, and Vincent, who’d been camped out at Morgan’s place all night, hoping Nina would show,

but she never did.

The next morning, nobody from the main branch of the Swanson family had breakfast at home. It was as if they’d all planned it together; everyone was out the door before the sun was even up.

Linda arrived at the main house with a pot of freshly made soup Luna by her side, ready to join the family for breakfast. Seeing this, Sarah chuckled and said, “Looks like Nina’s becoming more and more popular around here.”

Linda’s cheeks flushed.

She felt like Sarah was making a sly remark at her expense.

‘Well, I did use to dislike Nina,’ Linda thought, feeling a bit sheepsh.

Nina, meanwhile, didn’t care about the Swanson family’s sudden goodwill. She accepted it without a second thought, feeling no guilt at all.
