348 Chapter 349
Linda said. “My family’s company wants to buy Ethan’s new software. We’ve approached him, but he’s hesitant. He always listens to you Could you talk to him for us? We’ll ensure he’s properly compensated”
She’d gotten a call from her family last night, asking her to help out.
Sheld felt a little embarrassed about asking.
Always asking Nina for favors is kinda awkward, Linda thought feeling a little self-conscious.
But her brother was getting desperate, so she figured she’d try to put in a good word for him.
If it worked, awesome. If not, oh well,
Her brother would get it; she had to live with her husband’s family now, so she couldn’t always be running around helping her own.
“Ethan?” Nina said, she paused, just now realizing she hadn’t seen Ethan in forever. “Actually, where did he disappear to?” She vaguely remembered Ethan saying he had to head out to take care of something a while back.
And then, he never came back, and not even a phone call.
Could something have happened to him? Nina thought, a flicker of worry crossing her mind.

349 Chapter 349
349.Chapter 349
As soon as Nina finished speaking, Sarah and Linda were both unned.
Sarah was quiet for a long time before finally asking, “Has Ethan not been home these days?”
She said this while looking at Linda.
Linda looked totally lost. She answered, “I have no idea. Isn’t heving with you guys?”
She’d only been coming over to the main house more often lately. Before that, she almost never showed up here.
And even now, she was only coming by to bring soup for Nina. She never really paid attention to who else was around in the main house. Sometimes, she’d just drop off the soup and leave right away.
She honestly had no idea if Ethan was even home.
Linda shot Sarah and Nina a weird look. She asked, “Is Ethan like some freebie you get when you top up your phone bill or something?”
Sarah just stared, lost for words.
She’d been so busy lately that she’d totally forgotten about Ethan.
‘I hope nothing’s happened to that kid, Sarah thought.
Nina just blinked, at a loss for words.
Honestly, everyone’s just way too busy lately.
No one’s had the time to even think about him.
Meanwhile, Ethan, who wasn’t even there, was just speechless.
Vincent thought, grinding his teeth, ‘Alright, fine.
‘I’m a real person, you know. I’ve been missing for days, and not a single soul even noticed?
‘Guess I’m just the extra here, huh?’
Nina cleared her throat and turned to Linda, asking, “When did the Carter family reach out to Ethan?”
Linda thought for a moment and said, “I think it was last week? My brother said he’d been waiting forever for a reply, so he only called me yesterday.”
Nina lowered her gaze.
She thought, ‘It’s been ages, and Ethan still hasn’t come home or even called. That’s so not him.’
Ever since she came back, Ethan had always loved texting her.
Every day after he got to the office, if he found anything cool, he’d always shoot her a message to share it.
Nina checked her phone, realizing that the last time she and Ethan had chatted was over two weeks ago.
‘This isn’t right,’ Nina thought.
Her appetite vanished, and she immediately called Ethan.
*****
At a hotel in Seabridge, a ring pierced the quiet.
Ethan’s hand poked out from under the blankets, fumbling around until he finally grabbed his phone. He groggily checked the caller ID, then shot up in alarm. Next thing he knew, he’d tumbled right off the bed.
The woman next to him shot up in bed at the commotion. She asked, “What happened?”
Before she could get another word out, Ethan leapt back onto the bed and slapped his hand over her mouth. He said, “Don’t say anything.”
The woman blinked like crazy, signaling him to let go.
Ethan, clutching his phone in one hand and covering her mouth with the other, said, “I’ll let you go, just please don’t say anything, alright?”
The woman blinked, then nodded.
Ethan carefully let go of her, nerves still jangling
The woman glanced at his phone’s caller ID, sro
Ethan looked like he was in deep trouble.
No way he was picking up that call.
Successfully unlocked!
*ck up?”
“If you don’t pick up, she might just storm in here and tear you apart,” the woman helpfully said, a teasing glint in her eyes.

349 Chapter 349
Ethan gave a little shiver, then hurriedly snatched up his phone and answered, “Hey, Nina.”
He did his best to keep his voice steady, praying Nina wouldn’t catch on that something was up.
But the woman next to him just wouldn’t leave him alone.
Her fair hands slipped around his neck as she pressed herself against his back, acting like a mischievous vixen. She kept blowing warm breaths into his ear, refusing to let him relax.
Ethan’s whole body went rigid, and he swallowed hard. He grabbed her hand, giving her a look that clearly said, “Cut it out.”
The more Ethan tried to ignore her, the more she got into it. Her hands wandered all over him, and while the shock from Nina’s call had barely faded, she was already stirring up a whole new kind of heat inside him.
On the other end, Nina spoke again, but just as Ethan tried to reply, the woman’s roaming hands drew a low groan from him. He said, “Uh, I’ve got something going on right now. I’ll be back in a few days.”
