Chapter 379
Martin returned to his room and immediately called Lawrence.
As soon as the call connected, Martin demanded, “Did you make a move against Swanson Group?”

“Do you think I’m stupid? Why would I go after the Swanson family now?” Lawrence’s voice was low, tinged with anger.
None of the men he sent to kill Nina had returned. And yet, Nin was still alive.
“It wasn’t you?” Martin frowned. “Someone’s making a move against Swanson Group, forcing James to hand over the formula!”
“Are there others after the formula, too?” Lawrence asked.
“I’m not sure. I thought it was you,” Martin replied.
Martin looked grim. He’d spent years hunting for the formula, but Sarah had hidden it so well that nobody in the Swanson family even knew it existed.
Lawrence had even started to think it was just a myth. But it turned out that the Swanson family really did have it. And now, someone else was after it, too.
If the formula fell into someone else’s hands, Lawrence could kiss his chances of getting it goodbye.
“It wasn’t me,” Lawrence said, his face dark. “That formula means everything to the Nicholson family. I wouldn’t make a move until I was sure the Swanson family had it. Do whatever it takes. Just get that formula.”
After a moment, Lawrence added, “Once you’ve got it, get out of there. I’ll have someone ready to pick you up.”
“Guess that’s the only way,” Martin said, narrowing his eyes.
‘Looks like it’s time to leave the Swanson family for good. But before I leave, I have to deal with Waverly, Martin wondered.
Martin had been playing it safe with Waverly before, all because of the dirt she had on him. But now that he was leaving the Swanson family, he didn’t have to be afraid of her anymore.
Waverly had to die.

That night, after everyone in the Swanson family had gone to bed, Waverly opened her door and stepped out of the villa. Outside, a black sedan was waiting.
Waverly got in the car, and soon it pulled away, disappearing into the night.
In the darkness, Max stepped out, his eyes following the car as it disappeared down the road. He took out his phone and dialed Nina’s number.
A few minutes later, Nina and Elaine came downstairs.
Max walked straight over. “Ms. Swanson, our people are in position. Should we head out now?”
“Stay here at the house,” Nina said coldly. “Matthew’s going to make a move on my grandma tonight. Make sure she’s safe.”
Max hesitated. “But what about you?”
Ryan had put Max in charge of Nina’s safety. If anything happened to her, Max would never be able to explain himself to

“Martin? Please. You really think I can’t take care of him?” Nina’s voice was cold as ice. In her eyes, Martin was already a dead man walking.
Max was about to say something else, but Nina cut him off. “Things are going to get rough here at the Swanson family. Matthew’s a lunatic. He might target every last Swanson.”
Vivian and Lily were in Betrico now.
Now, there was no one left in the Swanson family that Matthew gave a damn about.
After waiting this long, Matthew wasn’t about to let this chance slip away.
“He wants to wipe them all out?” Max blurted out, stunned.
Max knew Matthew wasn’t actually related to the Swanson family by blood, but he’d still lived with them for years.
Sarah had always treated all the kids in the family pretty well.
And aside from a few petty schemes here and there, the rest of the Swanson family were actually decent people. ‘Even if Matthew doesn’t care about them, does he really have to go that far and kill everyone?‘ Max wondered. “Don’t waste your time trying to change a psycho. That’ll just get you killed badly,” Nina said coolly.
Max stiffened. “Got it.”
“Just follow the plan. Make sure the Swansons stay safe, and don go after Matthew yet,” Nina said.
With that, Nina and Elaine jumped on their motorcycles and took off from the Swanson residence.
Elaine kept the GPS tracking active.
Nina floored it, quickly closing the gap until Martin’s car was in sight up ahead.
She kept a steady distance, never too close, never too far.
