Chapter 380
Perhaps he was guilty of a guilty conscience, Martin was especially cautious tonight.
It was late, and the streets were practically deserted.
The moment Nina’s motorcycle came roaring up, Martin clocked her instantly.
Martin frowned, then glanced at Waverly beside him. “Did you tip off Nina?”
Waverly blinked, then shot back, “Are you crazy? Why would I call her?”
Waverly had been doing everything she could to stay out of Nina’s way.
Ever since Nina saved Hazel, Waverly had been flashing Waverly these sweet, almost sugary smiles all the time.
Nina seemed so warm and friendly. But the nicer Nina acted, the more it made Waverly’s skin crawl.

Waverly remembered all too well how she used to torment Nina as a kid, and now that Nina was only getting stronger, those memories haunted Waverly even more.
Waverly was scared out of her mind that Nina would finally come for payback.
“Not you?” Martin scowled, “Then why is she here?”
“How should I know?” Waverly shot back. “Maybe she’s heading to Midnight Club. You know she grew up there, right? This is the only road to the club. It’s just a coincidence we’re taking the same route.”
Waverly was sure Nina wasn’t coming for them.
Even if Nina was tough, she was still just a girl in her early twenties. There was no way Nina could know what they had been up to.
Martin narrowed his eyes, staying silent. He turned his head, and sure enough, Nina’s motorcycle was right there, riding alongside them.
At that moment, Nina glanced over at Martin, then hit the gas and shot past.
Martin let out a sigh of relief. Maybe it really was just a coincidence.
He’d kept things so low–key. No one in the Swanson family had a clue what he’d been up to, especially Nina.
After all, she’d only just come back less than two months ago. There was no way Nina could possibly know what he had been up to.
But just in case, Martin slowed his car down a notch, keeping things extra cautious.
Twenty minutes later, the car stopped at the entrance to the mountain road.
This was the same mountain where Vivian had dumped Nina all those years ago. Rumor had it that nobody ever made it out alive.
“Weren’t you supposed to take me to the airport? What’s with this stop?” Waverly shot Martin a frown, clearly annoyed as he pulled over.
Martin didn’t even look at her. He just unbuckled his seatbelt, face blank, and stepped out of the car.
Right then, a group of men suddenly emerged from the shadows, ripped open the car door, and hauled Waverly out.

Chapter 380
Waverly’s face went pale as she screamed, “Martin, what the hell are you doing?”
Martin didn’t even spare her a glance. He just gestured to the men holding her.
Without another word, they dragged Waverly off into the darkness of the mountain.

The group moved through the mountain like they’d done it a hundred times before, only stopping when they reached the very heart of the place.
Waverly was pinned down by the men, unable to move an inch.
She’d never felt this scared in her life. She struggled with all her night, but no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t break free.
Martin stalked toward her, knife gleaming in his hand, every step slow and deliberate.
Waverly was panicking, her voice trembling with fear. “What are you doing? Martin, don’t forget. I still have evidence on you! If anything happens to me, you can forget about getting away with it!”
Martin let out a mocking laugh and plunged the knife deep into Waverly’s stomach. “How dare you keep threatening me again and again?”
The blade sank in hard, and Waverly coughed up blood, her face twisted in panic. “Why-”
Martin traced the blade slowly along Waverly’s cheek, a vicious, predatory smile curling at his lips. “How did you find out about the Nicholson family?”
