But Iris was so badly hurt. It was like trying to snatch someone straight from the Grim Reaper. Even for Nina, it was a near- impossible feat.
“Yes,” Nina said. “Grandma, call an ambulance and get Iris to the hospital. I need to rest.”
Iris made it.
Nina had used The Soul-Stealing Thirteen Needles. Every time she used that acupuncture technique, it left her completely wiped out.
Especially, Iris’s situation was unlike anyone Nina had ever saved before. She was literally at death’s door when she collapsed.
Nina had to stabilize Iris’s life first, use The Soul-Stealing Thirteen Needles, and only then attempt surgery.
The Soul-Stealing Thirteen Needles took a massive toll on her body and mind, and then she spent five hours straight in surgery. Even with how strong she was, it was almost too much for her.
“Okay, go get some rest. I’ll take care of everything,” Sarah said.
Nina didn’t even have the strength to speak. She just headed straight for Martin’s room to crash.
After what happened to Martin, Sarah had both his and Matthews rooms emptied out right away. She made sure everything was thoroughly disinfected and swapped out all the bedding for fresh sheets and covers.
Even with everything replaced and spotless, Nina still wasn’t comfortable staying in Martin’s room.
But there weren’t any spare rooms left in the house, so she just had to make do for now.
After Nina went to rest, Sarah calmly started organizing everything that needed to be done next.
“Anna, call an ambulance right now and make sure Iris gets to the hospital safely. And arrange for bodyguards. Have them posted both inside and outside her hospital room to keep her safe,” Sarah instructed.
Anna nodded and hurried off to call the ambulance.
Sarah turned to Philip. “Philip, you go with the ambulance to the hospital. You know Iris’s situation best, so you’ll need to fill the doctors in. And make sure they use the best medicine. Whatever it takes to keep her alive.”
Philip nodded. “Nina already told me what to do. Don’t worry. We don’t need the hospital’s medicine. The stuff Nina gave me is the best there is. Iris is out of danger, but it’ll just be more onvenient to handle her recovery at the hospital.”
“Alright,” Sarah said after a brief pause. “Philip, you’re Nina’s student. I trust her. Since she vouches for you, I know you are solid-”
Before Sarah could finish, Philip jumped in, “I won’t breathe a word about what happened today.”
Sarah nodded, satisfied. ‘Quick thinking, just what I’d expect from someone Nina picked,’ she thought.
Once she finished giving instructions, Sarah turned to the rest of the Swansons, her face stern. “You all-
”
Before Sarah could get another word out, Linda piped up, “Sara we were all out handling errands today. We don’t know a thing about what happened at home, and we definitely didn’t see anyone come by.”
Judy chimed in, “Sarah, we know what’s important. We won’t breathe a word about this.”

Iris showed up at the Swanson residence covered in blood and said what she did. Anyone with half a brain could tell she was being hunted.
If the people after her traced her here, the whole Swansons coul be in danger.
But after everything that had happened lately, they’d all started to see Nina in a different light. Now they really got it. If the family wanted to get through this, they had to stick together.
So even if Sarah hadn’t warned them, none of them would’ve let it slip to anyone. It was all for the family’s safety. Nobody dared say a word about it.
