Heiress Returns Family Shocks (Nina Swanson) novel Chapter 412

Chapter 412

Qadir marched in with an imposing air, but the moment he locked eyes with Nina, he froze. He was scared of her.

Qadir felt annoyed. He thought, I’m way older than this girl, yet I get intimidated by her gaze. This is just humiliating

Nina stared at Qadir, her face cold and unreadable. “Before you touch me, ask yourself if you can handle it. This is your one free pass, out of respect for Mr. Quentin. Do it again, and I’ll break your bones.”

Wylder frowned. “Nina, watch your mouth. Mr. Goodwin is a founding member of the institute. He’s dedicated his whole life to medicine. You should show him some respect.”

“If he wants my respect, he should learn how to respect others first,” Nina said coolly, glancing at Wylder. “I’m here to do research, not to play politics. If they’re questioning me, that’s on you.”

Before Wylder could say a word, Nina added, “You’ve been in power for too long, huh? What else can you do besides boss people around?

“Instead of lecturing me, why don’t you focus on making those worthless underlings of yours find Scarlet quickly?”

Wylder was at a loss for words. He was old, and no one had ever talked to him like that before. The worst part was that he couldn’t find a single word to retort.

Wylder rubbed his nose. “Stop calling everyone useless. I know you’re smart, and so are they.”

Nina sneered. “A five-month useless project and no progress, and they still dare to question others. If that’s not useless, what is?”

Wylder was at a loss for words. He thought, ‘Can she just stop? Just because I didn’t give the institute a heads-up and these academic types are making trouble for her, she put the blame all on me.’

“Did you hear that?” Qadir fumed. “Does she even know what respect is? She’s so young and already this arrogant. If you let her be in charge, she’ll turn this place into a total mess.”

Qadir jabbed a finger at Project cl75 and turned to Wylder. “She just got here, and she’s already wrecked our project. Mr. Quentin, what are you going to do about it?”

Before Wylder could say a word, Mr. Quentin cut in again. “Let me make this clear. If she stays, then I’ll leave.”

Owen immediately jumped in to back Qadir up. “Yeah. If Nina stays here, then I’m out.”

“Same goes for us,” a few others echoed.

Suddenly, the whole institute was up in arms, everyone voicing their support.

Nina swept her gaze over the crowd, her face completely expressionless. “Do I need to remind you? You’re already out of the

institute.”

Qadir froze, his face pale as he glanced anxiously at Wylder. He’d thought Nina was just bluffing, trying to scare them a little, but she actually meant it.

Qadir thought, ‘She’s Mr. Quentin’s pick. Does that mean Mr. Quentin is fine with booting us all out of the institute?”

Wylder rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on, but honestly, he was at a loss.

Compared to Qadir, Nina’s temper was far harder to handle. She was already brimming with suppressed anger, and Wylder

dared not plead anymore.

If he really pissed Nina off, she could quit immediately, and that’d be a disaster.

“Did you all forget about your oaths when you joined the institute?” Wylder groaned in frustration. “You should follow orders. Did you forget just because there’s a new director?”

Qadir was just about to speak up when Wylder cut him off. “Apologize to Nina, and we’ll let this slide.”

“Apologize?” Qadir’s eyes widened. “Do you want us to say sorry to her? Mr. Quentin, you can’t be serious, right?”

“Yeah, Mr. Quentin. She acts like she’s above everyone, and now you want us to apologize to her. That’s a slap in the face for us,” Owen said anxiously.

The others jumped in,, “Nina should be the one saying sorry, not us. She destroyed five months of our hard work. Mr. Quentin, just because you back her doesn’t mean we have to suffer this injustice.”

Russell was about to lose it. “Did any of you actually see the project get destroyed?”
