Nina didn’t even spare Sophia a glance. She just walked over and sat down on the couch like she owned the place.
The maids at Foster Manor all knew Nina. When Sophia started causing trouble for her, they wanted to step in and warn Sophia, but she was so fired up that nobody could get a word in,
After seeing Nina handle Sophia, the staff didn’t need anyone to tell them what to do; they rushed to bring Nina some tea right away.
I mean. Nina was the apple of Ryan’s eye, and even Zachary and Maria were always trying to impress her. There’s no way they’d dare slack off around her.
Seeing Nina walk straight over and sit down on the couch like she owned the place, Sophia was absolutely livid. “This isn’t your house! You and my brother aren’t even a thing yet!”
They weren’t engaged, not married, and Ryan hasn’t even admitted Nina is his girlfriend, and he never brought Nia to any important family events.
What gives Nina the right to act like she runs the place?’ Sophia thought angrily.
Nina shot her a look, and Sophia instinctively looked down, unable to hold her gaze for even a second.
But inside, Sophia was fuming.
‘Why am I even scared of this woman?’ Sophia thought.
But the truth was, she was terrified.
Just one look from Nina, and Sophia was so freaked out she couldn’t even look her way, let alone say a word.
But deep down, she just couldn’t stand the thought of letting Ninh walk all over her like this.
Sophia clenched her jaw. “I refuse to believe no one can put you in your place!”
She snatched up her phone, ready to call in reinforcements.
But before she could even dial, Zachary’s voice came from the entrance, sounding puzzled. “What opponent?”
When Sophia heard Zachary’s voice, her heart dropped like a stone. Instantly, she started crying, her voice trembling with indignation. “Grandpa, you’re finally back! You have to help me. Nina hit me…”
As she spoke, Sophia tilted her chin up on purpose.
Zachary immediately caught sight of the mark on Sophia’s left cheek.
Nina was just about to speak, but Zachary cut her off with a stern scolding. “Nina knows right from wrong; she wouldn’t just hit someone for no reason. Was it you who mouthed off and acted disrespectfully?”
Nina usually couldn’t care less about explaining herself, but with Zachary right in front of her, she figured she might as well say something this time.
She thought about explaining herself.
Whoa, is Zachary actually taking my side?’ Nina thought, genuinely surprised.
Sophia couldn’t believe it. “Grandpa, why are you sticking up for her and not me? Who’s your real granddaughter here, huh?”

Just then, Maria walked in from the entrance, struggling under the weight of two huge bags of groceries.

Maria snapped, “Has the Foster family let you get away with this entitled attitude all these years? Apologize to your sister-in- law, uh, I mean, to Nina, right now!”
Maria was about to call Nina your sister-in-law, but caught herse. Nina and Ryan weren’t officially back together yet.
Not wanting to upset Nina, she quickly changed her wording.
They’d only been out picking veggies and chickens.
But in the short time they were gone, everything had turned upside down. They’d been doing everything they could to keep Nina around and get her and Ryan back together.
And now Sophia had to go and make things even worse?
Sophia burst into tears, pointing at Nina, her voice trembling with accusation. “Grandpa, Grandma! She just barged into our house. Am I supposed to just keep quiet and let her do whatever he wants?”
“Besides, she can’t even compare to Claire. Claire and my brother are the perfect match…”
Zachary cut her off, his voice blazing with anger. “Shut up!”
Maria marched right up to Sophia and grabbed her arm. “You have no right to talk about your brother’s affairs, and don’t let anyone trick you into speaking for them.”
Almost at the same time, Maria and Zachary both snapped, their voices ringing out together, “Apologize to Nina!”
