But if Sophia kept blocking her when she was handling serious business, then she had no one to blame but herself for what

came next.

Sophia puffed out her chest. “I’m not…”

Before she could even finish, Zachary grabbed her hand and pulled her sharply to his side. “Enough! Shut your mouth.

Nina’s actually trying to help us here. Ryan’s still missing, so you better not make any more trouble.”

People kept sending stuff to the house every single day, but they couldn’t even check out what was inside.

Ryan had this annoying quirk; he absolutely hated anyone touching his stuff.

Plus, each box came with its own weird password lock, so nobody could open them.

But Nina was a genius; if anyone could crack those boxes, it’d be her.

Sophia shot Nina a frosty glare. “Ryan used to go missing all the time, so why is it suddenly a big deal now? Honestly, you’re all just letting her manipulate you.”

Maria snapped, “Say one more word and you’re out of here!”

Sophia could tell Maria was seriously pissed, so she had no choice but to swallow her anger and step aside.

Maria, worried Sophia might mess things up again, grabbed her wrist and didn’t let her out of her sight.

The servant hauled the box straight into Ryan’s room.

Nina glanced over and counted; there were ten boxes now, all different sizes.

Nina stepped up and saw that the sender’s address was covered up on every shipping label.

Today’s box was the only one smeared with blood, and each box had a different password lock.

With a couple of deft twists of her fingers, Nina cracked the code and popped the box open.

Zachary watched, and the more he saw, the more he liked Nina.

‘Now that’s what I call a future granddaughter-in-law!’ Zachary thought.

Inside the box was nothing but a blood-soaked shirt, the collar embroidered with the initials “R.F” The sight of those letters was enough to make anyone’s heart skip a beat.

Time seemed to freeze.

Maria’s legs buckled, and she nearly collapsed, but Zachary caught her just in time.

Maria choked up, her voice breaking as she tried to speak. “Ryan he…”

Maria was crying so hard she couldn’t get a single word out, her lips trembling uncontrollably.

Zachary looked grim, but he managed to keep his cool. Sophia, on the other hand, was totally freaking out. “Impossible! If something had happened to my brother, how could he still be sending things home?”

Rage had burned away any sense of reason. Sophia charged straight at Nina. “Nina, how much do you want?”

Nina didn’t even spare her a glance.

The metallic scent of blood hit her instantly. She’d just spoken to Ryan not long ago, and he was still in Frontierland. Even if something had happened, it’s not like someone would bother mailing his shirt all the way back here to the Foster family.

Clearly, someone was doing this on purpose, trying to rattle everyone and stir up panic.

Nina pulled out her phone, about to make a call, when Sophia suddenly raised her hand and tried to slap her. “I’m talking to you! Are you deaf or just dumb?”

Nina’s eyes narrowed dangerously. Without hesitation, she seized Sophia’s chin and, with a hard squeeze and twist, popped her jaw right out of place.

Sophia cried out in pain. She wanted to curse Nina out, but not a single word would come out.

Her jaw just hung there, unable to close.

She was so mad she could only make muffled noises, but nothing came out.

Nina pulled her hand back, face blank, then casually took out a wet wipe and cleaned her hand as if nothing happened. “Get this straight, I’ve got a nasty temper. Next time, you’d better watch your tone.”
