In Betrico, Nina was just about to board the helicopter to Frontierland when Patrick came rushing over.

“Ms. Swanson, there’s someone who wants to see you. He said he one of Ryan’s team members, Patrick said anxiously. “He’s badly hurt. After saying that, he just passed out.”

Nina’s expression changed. “Where is he?”

“At the villa. I didn’t dare take him to the hospital or move him, I just had someone keep an eye on him,” Patrick replied.

Without another word, Nina headed straight for her villa.

When she arrived, Zaire was unconscious.

Nina didn’t know Zaire at all.

In fact, aside from Felix, she’d never met any of Ryan’s team members.

Nina took out her silver needles and swiftly stabilized Zaire’s vitals, then stepped forward to check his condition.

After a long moment, Nina stood up and said coldly, “Simon, call the director of Betrico Hospital right now and tell him to prep an operating room for me. Also, have Russell and the team come assist.”

“On it,” he replied.

Nina then turned to Patrick. “Come with me, we’re taking him to the hospital.”

Patrick and Nina quickly lifted Zaire into the car together.

Before getting in, Nina stood outside the car and said sternly to simon and Patrick, “Gather our people and lock down the operating room entrance. No one gets in, absolutely no one. If anyone tries to break through, stop them at all costs! No exceptions!”

Simon was stunned.

Simon wondered.

‘She’s ready to risk it all!’ he thought.

Last time, after Nina brought Iris back from the brink, Wylder’s men whisked her away immediately. Nina hadn’t seen Iris even once since then.

Zaire was one of Ryan’s people, and they’d been out on a mission. Now that Zaire was back in Betrico, there was no way the higher-ups wouldn’t catch wind of it.

They should be arriving at the hospital any minute now.

In the past, even if Nina didn’t want to, she always did what the organization told her.

Simon said, his tone serious, “Yes, I’ll guard the door with my life. No one gets in.”

On the way to Betrico Hospital, Simon had already called ahead to the director and made sure an operating room was prepped and waiting.

When Nina arrived, the hospital director was already outside, waiting for her.

Nina didn’t waste time on small talk; she headed straight for the operating room.

She had just pulled on her surgical gown when Russell and his crew showed up.

Russell didn’t bother with greetings either; he just led his team straight off to get changed.

After making all the necessary arrangements, Simon rushed over to the hospital.

Sean and the others were guarding the entrance to the operating room floor.

Simon and Patrick stood guard right outside the operating room door.

Half an hour later.

Maria and Zachary, with Charles and Grace supporting them, rushed in.

Simon had expected Wylder to be the first to arrive, but seeing the Foster family show up instead totally caught him off guard.

“Mrs. Foster, what brings you all here?” Simon asked, still puzzle

The Foster family might be the richest in Betrico, but when it came to intel, they were totally out of the loop. And Ryan’s mission was top secret, so there’s no way they’d know anything about it.

Even Nina had never heard of Zaire, so how did the Foster family even hear about this?

“Someone called us and said Ryan was in trouble and being treated at this hospital. What… what’s going on here?” Maria asked.

Maria looked totally lost when she saw Simon there.

The Foster family knew Ryan worked for the organization.

And they knew this mission was especially risky.

When they got the call, they figured it was someone from the organization. Seeing Simon here totally threw them off.

If Ryan was really in trouble, the ones standing guard should’ve been organization people, not Simon.

Simon frowned. ‘No wonder Nina had me and Patrick stand guard here. She must’ve already guessed someone would try to make a move at a time like this,’ he thought.

But he just couldn’t wrap his head around why anyone would go out of their way to get the Foster family here.

Is it just to watch the Foster family elders freak out?’ Simon wondered.

‘What’s the point? What do they get out of making the Fosters worry?’ he thought.
