Simon was about to move Zaire, and they couldn’t hang around and it was even worse if they knew where Zaire was headed.

The best way to avoid getting grilled was to play dumb and know nothing at all.

Besides, they were still worried sick about Ryan.

Nina said she’d reach out to Frontierland to see how Ryan was doing.

They couldn’t really help, so not making things worse was already the best they could do.

As for Wylder, everyone just ignored him.

They didn’t even say hi or bye, just left him standing there.

Simon moved Zaire right in front of Wylder, like he didn’t even exist.

Wylder was fuming, but all he could do was glare helplessly.

Nina really is such a pain sometimes, Wylder couldn’t help but grumble to himself.

She knew he might crack under pressure from the organization and come to her begging for Zaire, so she just decided to give him the cold shoulder.

But honestly, that worked out for him. If the organization came knocking, he could just play dumb and say he didn’t know a thing.

Meanwhile, Nina got back to the villa and grabbed her phone.

When she checked it, she saw a bunch of missed calls from Black Wolf.

She called him back right away.

The phone barely rang before Black Wolf picked up. “Nina, you finally called back. Did Ryan make it?”

Nina frowned. “No, he hasn’t. Who did you send to bring him over?”

She’d just noticed the message from Black Wolf.

Black Wolf had already sent someone to bring Ryan over from Frontierland yesterday.

It had been eighteen hours since then.

Ryan was supposed to arrive in Betrico around five in the morning, but it was almost eight now, and still no sign of him.

“He’s still not there?” Black Wolf’s tone grew serious. “I had Grey Eagle handle it, and they took the secret route. I double- checked, and no one spotted them. The people after them are still stuck in Frontierland. There shouldn’t have been any problems.”

Nina frowned. “I’ll try reaching the medics who were with them first.”

She hung up and immediately called the doctor at the base.

She got the names of the doctors who escorted Ryan back, according to Black Wolf, and called each one, but none of them answered.

Nina’s face darkened. She turned to Sean and said, “Get someone to check Grey Eagle’s helicopter flight records, now”

“Yes.” Sean didn’t waste a second and made the call right away.

After giving her orders, Nina didn’t stick around. She headed stright for the Betrico outskirts.

She was worried sick about Ryan and wished she could just go out there herself and track him down.

But the stuff Zaire brought back was just too important to put of

Zaire said there was a traitor in their squad, and those files had info on the traitor and what happened to Scarlet.

Scarlet wasn’t dead; she’d been taken.

But Zaire didn’t get the chance to say who grabbed her.

Right now, Nina needed to get her hands on those files first.

An hour later, Nina and Sean reached the Betrico outskirts and found the files at the spot Zaire mentioned.

Nina wasted no time and flipped the files open.

They were all about the drug and how those people intended tose it.

By the time she finished, Nina’s expression was downright stormy.

Turns out, they wanted to use the drug for cloning people.

They were creating highly intelligent clones to secretly replace al people.

They’d already selected more than a hundred targets, celebrities tycoons, university professors, research institute staff, and even members within the organization.

These targets were either in crucial positions, extremely wealthy or exceptionally smart.

If their plan succeeded, they could swap these people out without anyone suspecting a thing.

And once those clones infiltrated, it would bring catastrophic consequences to the nation.

Scarlet was the mastermind behind the drug, and for now, her life wasn’t at risk.

The files showed that Scarlet’s first batch of the drug had already been produced and was already in play.

A storm clouded Nina’s face.

‘Scarlet… Nina’s heart sank.

‘Betrayed us?’ she wondered.

Nina’s grip on the files tightened until her knuckles turned white
