Chapter 480
Veda was just about to ask Nina how she managed to raise those parasites when Ryan and Felix rushed in.
Ryan looked grim. “The back hill is a drug factory!”
Nina’s face darkened. “A factory?”
No wonder everyone in Phoenix Village was loaded. This whole place was just one big drug ring.
Nina immediately headed to Veda’s room, woke Ethan up, and then called Simon.

Once she was done, Nina told Veda, “You and Ethan go stand guard at the village entrance. Wait for the others to arrive, then lead them to the back hill.”
Veda was floored when she heard Ryan say the back hill was a drug factory.
She never would’ve guessed that the place she’d called home all her life was actually a drug factory.
This was seriously dangerous.
‘How did they even dare?’ Veda thought, her mind reeling.
The more Veda thought about it, the more furious she became. Her expression hardened as she said, “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure they get to the back mountain.”
She thought, ‘These damn vermin! They all deserve to die behind bars! Not a single one of them should ever get out!’
Nina, Ryan, and Elaine headed for the back mountain.
Ryan and Felix had already dealt with the few guards watching the back mountain.
It was probably because the folks in Phoenix Village figured with the front gate locked down, nobody would dare sneak in through the back, so they barely bothered to leave anyone watching the place.
Ryan and Felix took them out without breaking a sweat.
When Nina reached the back mountain and saw the factory, her eyes practically shot fire.
She thought, ‘That place is freaking massive!
‘How many drugs are they making every single day?
‘And how much of it are they smuggling out?
‘All the dirty money they make from these drugs is built on the bodies of the Enforcement Squad who gave their lives to stop this!
“They deserve to die!’
Elaine’s blood was boiling too when she saw how huge the factory was.
But she forced herself to stay calm and told Nina, “Take it easy for now. Let’s check things out before we do anything
As soon as Elaine finished speaking, Ryan said, “There are probably over a hundred guys in there, all men.”
Ryan paused, then added, “And they’re all handsome men.”

Nina frowned. “The men who disappeared from Phoenix Village

Elaine said, “So they weren’t killed, they were just shipped here to make drugs? But I don’t get it. Even if they needed people to cook up the stuff, why pick pretty men? Does being good-looking somehow make the drugs stronger or something?”
Nina said, “Forget about that for now. You guys wait here. I’ll go check it out.”
“I’ll go with you,” Ryan said. “I just scoped the place out, so I know my way around.”
“Okay,” Nina said.
Then Nina and Ryan made their way to the factory entrance.
So the place wouldn’t suffocate everyone inside, they’d built a small window into the wall.
Nina looked through the window and saw the men working inside. They looked like emotionless machines.
They just kept working, not even talking to each other at all.
‘Something’s off here,’ Nina thought.
If there were guys with guns watching them, not talking would make sense.
But there weren’t any guards at all.
And they were still not talking to each other, not even a whisper.
It only meant one thing that they must all be brainwashed or controlled by someone.
Nina paused, her mind racing, then steeled herself and walked right in.
Sure enough, it turned out to be exactly as Nina had guessed!
The men didn’t even glance her way. They just kept working like mindless robots, totally ignoring her.
Nina didn’t even spare the men a glance. She strode straight to the nearest assembly line, and when her eyes landed on the meth piled up there, her expression grew so dark it was almost terrifying.
This was pure, high-concentration heroin, and just a single gram could make a normal person lose their mind.
And on this one assembly line alone, there was over a hundred kilos of the stuff.
And there were ten assembly lines just like it!
“Damn!” Nina was angry. She almost kicked the whole assembly line over right then and there.
But reason pulled her back, forcing her to calm down.
All of this was evidence.
If she trashed it, all the evidence would be gone.
Nina took a deep breath, walked up to one of the men, and jabbed a silver needle into his pressure point.
The guy shuddered, then looked at Nina, totally lost and confused.
A few seconds later, he suddenly freaked out and started shouting. “I wasn’t slacking, I swear! Please, don’t hit me?”
The guy was so hysterical, Nina couldn’t even ask him anything.
