Chapter 507
Walter had only just found out about Nina and Ryan getting the marriage license ten minutes ago.
Nina was someone Ruben watched closely; he was always keeping tabs on her.
He hadn’t known about Nina and Ryan getting their marriage license at first.
But the news had blown up so big, it was impossible to miss.
By now, the whole city of Betrico was buzzing about it.
Word was, the Foster family had already gone to Riverdale to propose, and the wedding was probably just around the
corner.
Walter knew Vincent had feelings for Nina.
Ruben knew, too.
Of course, Ruben was all for Vincent marrying Nina.
After all, Nina was a rare medical genius.
With Nina’s help, the medicine Ruben wanted could be finished in no time.
But the real problem was that Nina was not someone anyone wanted to mess with.
Last time Vincent tried to bring her in, she blew the whole house to bits; they still hadn’t managed to fix it up.
And Nina specifically called him out to warn him; if he messed with Ryan, they’d be done as friends, period.
“Nina only told me not to kill Ryan,” Vincent said, shooting Walter a lazy glance. “I’m just playing a little game with him, so I’m not breaking my word.”
“But…” Walter tried to say something.
Before he could get another word out, Vincent cut him off, his tone bored. He said, “If you screw this up again, you useless idiot, don’t even bother showing your face around me. Just looking at you makes me dumber.”
Walter was left speechless.
‘Getting my heart stabbed by Vincent three thousand times a day guess that’s just my life now,’ Walter thought.
After Walter left, Vincent took a sip of his wine, a gleam of excitement flashing in his eyes. He said, “Nina, let Ryan have fun with a knockoff version of you, At the end of the day, you’re till mine.”

At Quentin’s residence, a furious shout suddenly broke the calm of the courtyard,
“What? You’re quitting?” Wylder asked. He practically exploded. Nina, don’t joke around with me. I’m too old for this kind of scare,”
Nina sat on the sofa, legs casually crossed, looking completely relaxed. She said, “I’m serious. I’m quitting. Not working anymore.”
Wylder was so mad that his heart was racing. He said, “Give me he good reason.”

Chapter 507
“Getting married and having kids,” Nina said, cool as ever.
Wylder fell silent.
He thought, ‘Did you even hear yourself right now?
‘So you’re dropping your job just because you’re tying the knot and popping out a kid?
‘We’re at the most critical point with this medicine, and you want to bail on me now?’
Wylder felt like he was about to cough up blood and drop dead on the spot; he was that furious.

He took a deep breath, trying to reason with her. He said, “Getting married doesn’t mean you have to quit everything. Why not take some leave, get married, and then come back to finish your project?”
Nina glanced up at Wylder, then shifted her posture, lounging back on the sofa. She asked, dead serious, “Mr. Quentin, I’ve got a really important question for you.”
Wylder said, “Ask away.”
“Since I joined the organization, how much have you guys actually paid me?” Nina asked, totally serious.
Wylder fell silent.
He thought, ‘Wait a minute…
‘We never paid her a single cent.’
Nina smirked. “I’ve been with the organization for at least eight years. Even at a basic salary of one thousand a month, that’s over 90,000. But I checked my account yesterday, no salary, no se bonuses. Not a single cent.”
Nina paused, then said, “You really didn’t pay me? Fine, I don’t need the money. But after all I’ve done, you actually withdrew billions from my account and gave it to the state?”
Nina looked at Wylder, her face totally serious. She asked, “I’m not great at math, Mr. Quentin. Why don’t you crunch the numbers for me? Do you think that’s a good deal?”
