Simon’s words left the room in stunned silence.

Ethan slumped back in his chair, staring at Nina with his jaw on the floor.

Did I hear that right? Simon just called Nina the boss? Is she this awesome?’ Ethan thought.

Midnight Club was a nationwide chain, and it wasn’t just some random nightclub.

Word was, it had serious connections. Nobody knew exactly how deep, but everyone agreed that the boss was a total mystery, and one’d be crazy to mess with them.

Some moron once tried to cause trouble at the club and mess with one of the girls. By the next morning, he and his whole company had basically vanished. After that, nobody even thought about causing trouble there again.

‘Nina runs this powerful club? Man, what the hell has she been up to all these years?’ Ethan thought.

Suddenly, he remembered the motorcycle Nina gave him. Now he was thinking maybe that bike wasn’t from Ryan; it was

hers.

Alex lay crumpled on the floor with his arms and one leg wreckel, but pain was the last thing on his mind. All he could think was, ‘I’m toast.’

He might be a total screw-up, but he knew the boss of Midnight Club. If one pissed her off, they were either dead or wishing they were.

Freaking out, Alex turned to Lucas and said, “Call my dad and tell him not to come.”

If Richard showed up, the Carter family was done for. Alex might be a jerk, but he wasn’t about to drag his entire family down with him. If they went down, he was finished too.

Lucas didn’t dare hesitate and frantically dialed Richard. But the call went straight to voicemail.

Alex’s mind went totally blank. He crawled over to Nina’s feet, groveling, “I lost it. I’m sorry. Just treat me like garbage and let me go, please.”

Nina lounged on the couch, side-eyeing Alex without a word.

Seeing her silence, Alex quickly added, her voice desperate, “Let me and my family walk, and I’ll do whatever you want.”

He couldn’t even stand or crawl. He just lay there begging, looking like a damn fool.

Lily stared at Alex, her mind blank, face ashen.

Nina is the boss of Midnight Club? How is that even possible? She was raised by a club girl. Where did she get the power for that? Lily thought.

But then it hit her. Right, she was raised by a club girl. She’s never short of men around her.

“Those guys are all hooked on her looks, and they’ll give her any ing. Damn, why does she always have it so easy?’

Just then, the server brought over fresh drinks. Nina picked up glass, took a sip, and said, “You know when to fold, Alex.”

Alex was actually pretty sharp. After learning her true identity, immediately swallowed his pride and begged for mercy.

She’d met plenty of clueless jerks who’d still throw a fit like mancs, even after finding out who she really was.

“I messed up. Please, just give me one chance. I’ll do anything; be your errand boy, whatever.”

Nina swirled her drink, smirking. “I’ve got plenty of guys who’d Hill to work for me. You’re not even close.”

“Yeah, I’m not worthy,” Alex echoed right away. “I’m total trash, not even worth your time. I’ll get out of your sight right now, okay?”
