“Have you lost your mind?” Elizabeth cried out, her voice trembling with shock. “You’re really going to kick me and David
out of this house for that bastard?”
Edward’s expression didn’t flicker, but his command was absolu. “Butler, pack up her things and throw her out.”
Elizabeth’s face went pale. “What the hell are you doing? You spent all those years holed up in that nursing home, ignoring everything here, and now you come back just to cause trouble? What did I ever do to you?”
Edward didn’t even spare her a glance. He just shot a look at the butler, who was still standing there frozen. “What? Can’t I even order you around anymore?”
The butler’s face changed, and he quickly told the servants to start packing up Elizabeth’s things.
Elizabeth was so furious that her chest hurt, and her sons rushed to support her. “Edward, have you lost your mind?
“I’m your wife. I’ve stuck with you my whole life, and now that we’re old, you want to kick me out? Are you trying to kill me?”
Edward’s sons couldn’t take it anymore. One of them blurted ou “Dad, what did Mom do to make you this angry?
“Even if she messed up, you can’t just throw her out. Her parents are gone. She’s got nowhere else to go.”
Another added, “Dad, you need a real reason for this. You can’t just kick Mom out.”
His sons weren’t exactly close to Elizabeth.
But no matter how bad things were between them, she was still their mother. There was no way they’d just stand there and let her get kicked out.
Edward swept his icy gaze over the crowd. “What? You all want to get kicked out of the Hawthorne family along with her?”
His sons instantly dropped her hand.
Elizabeth was speechless. ‘I really raised a pack of ungrateful brats,’ she fumed inside.
The butler moved fast, packing up Elizabeth’s things in a flash. With Edward fuming, he didn’t dare slow down for a second.
He only grabbed a few of her clothes and some jewelry and then rushed downstairs.
At first, the butler thought there might be a chance to smooth things over, but seeing Edward standing there in stony silence, he didn’t dare stall. He had the servants haul Elizabeth out.
Elizabeth’s curses rang out through the whole villa, but Edward didn’t even blink.
It wasn’t until Elizabeth’s shouting finally faded that William and his brothers exchanged glances, still on edge as they looked at Edward.
Nobody dared to say a word.
Edward had been holed up in the nursing home for years, and now he came back and blew up like this. Something must’ve gone down.
They were all worried that Edward had caught wind of something they’d done, so everyone kept their heads down, not daring to make a peep.
“I’m bringing Miranda back. Does anyone have a problem with at?” Edward picked up his cup again, drinking his tea like nothing had happened.

William’s eye twitched. He thought, ‘So all this drama is just because he wants Miranda back?
‘But that doesn’t add up. Miranda’s been stuck in Riverdale for ten years, and he never cared before. So why now?
William couldn’t figure it out, so he glanced over at David.
David frowned, just as lost as William. He couldn’t make heads of tails of what Edward was planning, but right now, he didn’t dare say a word.
He knew better than to doubt Edward’s resolve. If he said another word, he’d be out on the street for sure.
Getting kicked out himself was one thing, but if that happened, He and Jessica’s daughter would be tossed out too.
No way was he letting his little girl go through that.
Seeing nobody saying a word, Edward finally set his cup down. “Guess nobody’s got a problem with it, huh?
“Let me warn you. After I bring her back, if anyone dares to give her trouble, don’t expect me to go easy on you.” With that, he headed upstairs with the butler supporting him.
