Ryan kicked Lily straight through the Swanson family’s front door. Everyone in the Swanson residence was already asleep The loud noise woke them up, and they all got up to see what was happening.
Vivian was the first to rush downstairs. When she saw Lily sprawled on the floor, her hair all over the place and filthy from head to toe, her expression changed dramatically. “Lily, what happened to you?”
“Mom, help me,” Lily cried out. She felt like her whole body was bout to fall apart from the pain. Ryan’s bodyguards had roughed her up good before dumping her here.
Vivian’s heart broke seeing Lily like this. She shouted furiously, Who the hell did this to you, Lily? Just tell me who it was, and I’ll make them regret ever being born.”
She was so focused on Lily that she didn’t notice Ryan, Nina, or Blaine at all right behind her.
James came downstairs next. He spotted Ryan right away, just frowned, then turned his gaze to Lily, his face grim. “What happened?” he asked.
Even though he didn’t like Lily, she was still a Swanson. Seeing her beaten up like this was a slap in the face for the whole Swanson family.
“Dad, Mom, it was Nina,” Lily cried out. “She told Ryan to beat me up like this. She wants to destroy me. She doesn’t want me in the Swanson family anymore. She hates me for stealing her identity.”
Lily clung tightly to Vivian’s hand. “Mom, please, talk to Nina. I ever wanted to take her place. I never tried to steal anything from her. None of this was my choice.
“Please, just ask her to leave me alone, okay? I’ll leave the Swanson family. I’ll go today. I promise I’ll never bother her again.”
Vivian’s anger exploded. “You ungrateful snake. Nina, you two-faced brat. I swear I’ll make you pay for what you did to Lily today.”
With that, Vivian raised her hand, aiming a slap right at Nina. Before Nina could even react, Ryan, who was standing right next to her, kicked Vivian hard, sending her flying.
Ryan’s kick was brutal. Vivian crashed straight into the steps outside.
Then Ryan’s icy voice cut through the air. “You’ve got the guts to bully Nina right in front of me? God knows what kind of crap you bunch of brutes have pulled when I’m not here. What, ou think I’m dead or something?”
Martin came downstairs just in time to see Ryan kick Vivian across the room. His anger flared. “Ryan, don’t get cocky.
“This is the Swanson residence, not the Foster residence, and you think you can just come here and hit my mom? Do you
eally think we’re afraid of you?”
James gave Vivian a cold look, then turned to Ryan, his expression grim. “I expect a damn good explanation.”
He never cared about Vivian, so her pain meant nothing to him. But right now, he had to step up and defend the Swanson family’s honor.
The Swanson family might not be as powerful as the Foster family, but that didn’t mean they’d let Ryan walk all over them.
Ryan stood there with his hands in his pockets, his tall figure streched out by the moonlight. He kept his tone polite, but there was a chill underneath. “Mr. Swanson, Nina was bullied. Don’t you think you should give me an explanation?”
James turned to Nina, his brow furrowed, his voice full of dishelf. “Bullied? Her?”

Do you even hear what you’re saying? Seriously? With everything that’s happened, you really expect me to believe Nina’s the victim here? James thought.
Nina didn’t even have a speck of dust on her. Meanwhile, Lily was beaten to a pulp, her whole body covered in bruises, and her face was so messed up you could barely tell who she was anymore.
