He felt like he’d just barely made it out alive.

Nina pinched the bridge of her nose. After all this mess, her han over had vanished, but she was still a little fed up. “You guys can leave now,” she said.

Out of respect for Scarlet, Nina’s tone toward Richard was much softer than usual.

“Alright,” Richard blurted out, scrambling to his feet and hurrying out without looking back.

Just as he was about to reach the door, Richard suddenly remembered something and hurried back to Sarah. “Mrs. Swanson, how about we just wipe the slate clean between the Swanson and Carter families?
