Ryan’s expression turned cold. He thought. This woman is such a pain. If I don’t get her out of here. I’ll never get any alone time with Nina’

Ryan beckoned the head bodyguard over and murmured. “Go find something to keep the Sinclair family busy.”

Nina had no idea what Ryan was plotting. She went over to the cutter, scooped up all the newly revealed rough stones, and handed them straight to Elaine. “Make a jewelry set for my grandina, and you can have the rest.

She really wasn’t into emeralds these days.

Back when she was launching SN Corporation and needed startup cash, she wiped out the entire Gemstone Exchange in Seabridge and pocketed a cool 3 billion.

Now she was rolling in money, and collecting emeralds just didnt excite her anymore.

“For your grandma?” Elaine blinked, surprised. “Is there something important coming up?”

“Her seventieth birthday,” Nina replied, lips pressed together. Tm handling the whole thing myself.

Elaine’s eyes lit up. “Your grandma’s turning seventy? I gotta get her something really nice.”

Ryan’s eyes brightened. He thought. Her grandma’s big birthday? Time to show off and impress her. Nina always does whatever her grandma says. If her grandma’s in a good mood, maybe she’ll even set Nina up with me.”

After leaving the Gemstone Exchange, Nina was planning to head back to the Swanson residence, but Elaine insisted on dragging Nina out shopping with her.

Nina figured there was nothing going on at home anyway, so she agreed.

The two girls totally ignored Ryan, but he was shameless. He just tagged along, not caring if they wanted him there or not.

As Nina and the others left the Gemstone Exchange, the crowd that had been watching finally broke up and went their

separate ways.

Once the place was empty, a man wearing a baseball cap slowly raised his head, a cold, wicked grin spreading across his face. “Nina, you really are full of surprises, aren’t you?”

‘Guess I’ll have to get a little surprise ready for our next meeting, he thought.

Meanwhile, just as Nina and Elaine were about to get in the car, someone called out to her. “Excuse me, miss. Could you wait

a moment?”

Nina turned around and saw an elderly man walking toward her leaning on a cane.

Nina sized him up. “Are you talking to me?”

The old man smiled and nodded. “That’s right. Let me introduce myself. I’m Loren Carroll. I’m interested in that rough glassy emerald you’ve got. Would you consider letting it go?”

Nina blinked in surprise. She gave Loren another once-over. He definitely didn’t look like some regular Joe.

Just that cane in his hand was worth at least 1.5 million dollars. It was custom-made from some exceptionally rare material.

That kind of material was hard to come by even if one was rich.

Nina thought, ‘If his cane alone is worth that much, then he must be seriously wealthy. Sure, rough glassy emerald is rare, but it’s way easier to find than the material used for his cane.

Why is he so fixated on my glassy emerald?’

Seeing Nina sizing him up, Loren just smiled and said, “You’ve got a keen eye, miss. I’m sure you can tell I’m not just some regular guy.

“If I wanted this kind of glassy emerald, I could pick one up whenever I wanted. So why am I here in person, and why do I want yours specifically?”

He looked a bit troubled. “The glassy emerald is usually easy for me to find, but I’ve spent three years searching and still haven’t found the perfect piece.

“Today, I just happened to stop by the Gemstone Exchange, and by chance, I saw you get this glassy emerald.

“This is the best piece I’ve come across in three years. I really need it. If you’re willing to let it go, I’ll pay three times the market price.”
