The next day, Sophia woke up with a dull ache in her lower back.

Probably from the fall last night. She didn’t think much of it.

She caught a cab to the company and headed straight to the CEO’s office, where she kept a change of clothes in the attached lounge.

Sophia changed into a sharp business suit and applied light makeup to hide how pale she looked.

Corporation, she wasn’t asking for a single penny. All assets were to be kept separate. She’d drawn a clean line.

He just set up a drone show for Isabelle. He didn’t sleep with her. Was that really worth all this?

Damian’s brow furrowed deeply. He glanced at Liam.

“How was Mrs. Hall today?”

“Yes. She’s been paying close attention to a project by Aurora Tech. The founder is Vincent Carlisle, an MIT PhD specializing in artificial intelligence. He just founded the company last year after returning from abroad and is looking for investors.”

The tablet displayed Vincent’s profile–28 years old,

gold–rimmed glasses, and an impeccable academic record.
