Her Divorce, His Downfall (Sophia and Damian) novel Chapter 50

Chapter 50

Why?

Just last night, she’d claimed she no longer loved Connor. Yet now, the way she looked at him was filled with such tender concern—even a trace of the gentleness he’d never received from

her.

When those beautiful eyes turned to him, all that remained was distance and cold indifference.

The stark contrast made him question once again whether Sophia’s claim about not loving Connor was just empty words to appease him. Deep down, she might still love Connor.

Realizing this possibility, the air around him grew thick with

tension.

Isabelle, who was holding his arm, sensed his displeasure and a calculating gleam flashed in her eyes. She immediately put on a concerned expression and stepped forward, linking arms intimately with Sophia.

“Sophia, you are in the hospital too? It seems like in Connor’s heart, you’ll always be the most important person to him.

“Look at me-his actual fiancée-injured like this, and he hasn’t even glanced my way. Instead, he’s been by your side every 12:03

Watching this performance, Sophia felt her mouth twitch with disgust.

The fury from this morning’s online harassment hadn’t subsided. Now, seeing the two culprits-Damian and Isabelle- appear together, rage shot straight to her head.

She yanked her arm free and pointed at Isabelle, her emotions spiraling out of control.

“What are you doing here? Come to watch me suffer? Get out! I don’t want to see either of you.”

Tears instantly streamed down Isabelle’s face as she sobbed pitifully.

“I was just worried about you so I begged Damian to bring me here. Even though you called Connor away from me, I won’t hold it against you.

“But you are married after all. Getting so close to my fiancé… it hurts Damian too.”

This manipulative back-and-forth, this deliberate mud-slinging, completely ignited Sophia’s suppressed fury.

Unable to control herself any longer, she raised her hand to slap Isabelle’s hypocritical face.

shatter.

Sharp pain shot through her arm, making Sophia wince.

She looked up in shock, meeting Damian’s icy black eyes.

The next second, he ruthlessly flung her hand away.

Caught off guard, Sophia stumbled backward, her back slamming hard against the fire extinguisher mounted on the wall.

“Ah!” A muffled groan escaped her lips as pain exploded from the impact point. Her vision went dark, and tears reflexively filled her eyes.

Complex emotions flashed briefly in Damian’s eyes before being covered by cold indifference.

He looked down at her, his voice ice-cold:

“Did Isabelle hit a nerve? That’s why you’re lashing out? Last time you put Isabelle in the hospital, you never even apologized. Now you want to hit her again?

“Sophia, when did you become so unreasonable?”

Before Sophia could respond, Isabelle tugged at Damian’s sløgve, lifting her tear-stained face with a weak voice:

At her words, Damian’s hostile aura softened considerably.

He turned to look at Isabelle, the frost on his face melting into rare gentleness.

His tone carried helpless affection. “Sophia has been spoiled by my grandmother. If she had half your understanding nature, she wouldn’t cause so much trouble.”

Watching these two act out their tender scene right in front of her, treating her like she was worthless, Sophia felt fury burning through her rationality.

She dug her nails deep into her palms, raised her head, and stared directly at Damian. Her lips curved into a mocking smile:

“Damian, if you think she’s so understanding, so wonderful, you might as well just marry her. We can get divorced. When do we sign the papers?”

Hearing her mention divorce again, Damian’s brow furrowed instantly.

He looked at her with disbelief that quickly transformed into

anger.

How long was she going to keep this up?

Because of some ridiculous jealousy, she’d put Isabell in the2:03

“I only see Isabelle as a sister!” His voice rose sharply. “Even if you’re jealous, read the room! You hurt her this badly a few days ago, you haven’t apologized, and now you want a divorce?”

Sister?

What a convenient excuse.
