Her Hidden Hero from the Unwritten Page novel Chapter 44

Biting her lip to hide her burning resentment, she marched up to Winona, straightening her neck like a proud little peacock. "Excuse me, Winona, but this is my seat. Please move."

The noisy classroom suddenly went dead silent.

Students all around them blatantly stared.

Winona propped her chin on her hand and smiled. "What a coincidence. I was specifically waiting for you."

"Waiting for me?" Rhea's eyes widened. "I don't think we're close enough for you to be waiting for me. Please get up."

Deep down, she firmly believed Winona was only sitting there to grab Herbert's attention.

Even though they had been engaged since childhood, anyone with eyes knew he couldn't stand her. Setting the engagement aside, Winona was always the one desperately throwing herself at him.

"Is that so?" Winona looked completely relaxed. "Why don't you think a little harder?"

Herbert tossed his backpack onto his desk. Bending his long legs, he rapped his knuckles against the table and said in a low voice, "If you have something to say, just say it. Stop throwing your family's money around to bully people."

Rhea bit her lip, looking every bit the fragile, bullied victim.

Winona gave him a look of pure astonishment. "Are you her boyfriend?"

Herbert almost couldn't maintain his composure. "What did you say?"

She repeated it with perfect patience: "Are you her boyfriend?"

"Of course not." He frowned deeply. "Don't start rumors."

His denial came so fast that Rhea felt like a hole had been punched right through her chest.

She looked like she was about to collapse.

Winona rolled her eyes. "Are you her brother?"

"No."

"Then are you her mother?"

His face instantly turned black as thunder. "Winona, stop being so unreasonable."
