A rich scent filled the air.

Everyone at the scene recognized that smell. They’d created it specially for Wendy. Those who liked bold perfumes loved it.
The bottle already had Wendy’s name on it. When released, they’d market it as her exclusive signature
scent.
But she wasn’t even famous. Who’d buy into that?
It was already a hard sell. Then, right before launch, Wendy threw a fit.
She had to be the only one wearing it. She couldn’t stand others using her exclusive perfume. It was her signature scent. Wouldn’t it be weird to let someone else use it?
They’d spent half a year on it. Then, with one sentence, she turned it into her personal supply.
She even worried others would steal the produced perfume. So each time, they could only make one bottle. Only she could use it. Anyone else who touched it would even be blacklisted.
There was no arguing with her.
Now the lingerie had the scent of Wendy’s exclusive perfume…
Wendy looked at Jean, disappointment written on her face. “Jean, I took this hit just for you. Do you realize what will happen if this hits home? And now you pull this?”
A thought seemed to strike Jean. “Fine, I did it. I couldn’t stand Sherry marrying Mr. Bode. He should be with someone better.
“What makes her good enough for him? And she dared to hit him? I knew she was trouble. I meant to do it. Got a problem with that? Mr. Bode, you know who I’ve always supported—”
“Enough!” Gilbert pressed a hand to his bleeding forehead. “Who gave you the right to stick your nose in my business? You know what bugs me the worst? Assistants who do things without asking. Jean, you’re fired.”
No surprise, the whole scene quickly spread through their social circles.
The gossip channels were always buzzing about Sherry and Gilbert.
Especially in Gilbert’s friend group-the chatter was endless. After all, Gilbert never brought Sherry
around to meet them.
But Wendy had slid right into their circle the moment she came back. They weren’t stupid. They knew which way the wind blew, and their comments about Sherry were brutally honest.
They all called Sherry a “simp.”

Tyrone Davis texted, “Did you guys see? Sherry actually hit Gilbert!”
The group chat exploded, though most didn’t believe it.
“Come on. If anyone’s hitting anyone, it’s Gilbert beating that simp.”
“If he really hit her, I bet she’d just kiss his hand after.”
The nastiest comments came from the Edwards brothers-Wendy’s simps.
Tyrone had the proof and texted, “It’s real! Look-Gilbert’s head is bleeding!”
He posted a short video.

It showed Gilbert following behind Sherry, his head split open, taking her kicks and hits without fighting back.
Everyone was speechless.
After Tyrone finished explaining, the group finally understood what happened.
“Damn-do you think Sherry will divorce Gilbert this time? And he gave her a holiday gift that was… Wendy’s used…”
They all knew Wendy and Gilbert had something going on.
How else would two people with no blood ties be that close?
John Edwards snorted and texted, “Please. She’s just throwing a fit. Once Gilbert sweet-talks her, she’ll immediately forgive him.”
Paul Edwards added, “She was so obsessed she even got that marriage certificate. You think Sherry would really divorce? She’s just playing hard to get.”
The others didn’t even want to bet.
No point. Sherry wasn’t going anywhere. It was just a question of how many days until she gave in.
Usually, never more than three days.
Except for Melissa White-the one who clashed with Sherry the most.
She usually went to banquets in Sherry’s place. She was also a deputy manager at the Bode Group.
She was supposed to be Gilbert’s future wife. But then too much happened with the Bode family, and the White family decided to play it safe.
