Chapter 154 Office Drama
He turned around and walked off.
No matter how loud and messy Maura screamed for him, he never looked back.
Maura was so ticked off she threw a total hissy fit right there on the floor.

It’s all her fault! If she hadn’t even shown up, I never would’ve made such a fool out of myself in front of everyone.
I’m gonna get back at her-no doubt about it.
When she got home, she ranted and raved, throwing stuff around like a maniac.
Gilbert was fired up too.
Back in the day, even when they fought, Sherry would always find a way to hit him up. She’d make up the dumbest, silliest excuses just to break the ice.
And he’d always go along with it, letting her save face so they could stop fighting.
But this time? Sherry hadn’t texted or called him in days. He had been waiting for days, and yet, there was complete silence.
Sherry hadn’t come to apologize. That meant she actually thought she was in the right!
He was gonna knock that stupid idea out of her head.
Even if she begged him to let her go to that party, he’d shut her down/ She was way too stubborn, acting like a spoiled brat.
This time, he wasn’t gonna cut her any slack. Not a chance.

It was Sherry’s first time prepping for a meeting. Last night, she’d practiced over and over in the kitchen— just like Lucas had taught her. She was scared she’d mess up big time.
Lucas stood on the second floor, his long legs crossed, watching her quietly.
Downstairs, Sherry was arranging cups on the coffee table–serious, focused, exactly how he’d pictured
her.
Sherry got everything ready for the meeting. She didn’t have to do half this stuff, but she was new to most of it. This was her way of getting the hang of things.
She was refilling the cups when, out of nowhere, something flew at her. Hot coffee spilled all over her-it burned like crazy.
Sherry yelped and jumped back, wincing in pain.

Maura frowned, totally annoyed. “Quit your yelling! It’s just a little coffee-quit being such a baby! This ain’t the place for your princess crap!
“Can you even do your job? If not, bounce!”
“Are you out of your mind?” Sherry glared at her, grabbed another cup of coffee, and dumped it straight on Maura’s face.
Maura saw a group of people walking over. She’d planned to just stand there, not moving-playing innocent and pitiful, like Sherry had attacked her for no reason at all.
But she didn’t expect the coffee to be that hot!
She’d wanted to look delicate, like she was about to burst into tears. Instead, she yelped, hopping around like a monkey, fanning her face like it was on fire.
Then she saw Lucas walking over with a group of people. She forced herself to stop screaming.
“Mr. Harrison, I was just trying to teach her how to organize files,” she said, her voice all sweet and
innocent.
“But she called me a busybody! Said only you can teach her-called me stuck-up for even trying. And then… then she poured hot coffee on my face! Look at me! My face is all red and burnt-she tried to hurt me bad!”
Believe it or not, her face was bright red-totally burnt.
“I didn’t burn myself, did I? Ask anyone-she’s the one who did this to me!” Maura sobbed, putting on her
best act.
“I did it,” Sherry said, calm as can be.
Maura perked right up, turning to Lucas with a pout, her voice all whiny. “See? She admitted it! Right there!”
Sherry held up her hands and pulled up her pants leg, showing the red, burnt spots. “She burned me first. That’s why I did it back.”
“Liar! You’re making that up!” Maura screamed. “You saw how pretty I am-knew I was a threat to you. So you tried to ruin my face!”
She turned back to Lucas, pouting and whining even more. “It hurts so bad, Mr. Harrison. You gotta have my back here!”
She looked just like Wendy and Teresa-same fake, innocent act.
Every time something like this went down, Wendy would just bat her eyes and say, “Gilbert, it hurts,” and Gilbert would believe her-no second thoughts.
Teresa was even slicker. She’d just shed a few tears, and Sherry would get punished-even if she’d done nothing wrong. She’d have to apologize, no matter what.
