He looked hotter than Gilbert. Gilbert tried to stay in shape too, but he couldn’t hold a candle to Lucas.
Being young sure had its perks.
What a nice morning surprise.
“You like it?”
Sherry nodded without thinking, then shook her head right away.
Lucas stared at her with that perfect face, dead serious. “Work out yourself.”
Sherry rolled her eyes and sat up fully. No wonder he hung out with Tyrone-both of them had mouths that could tick someone off.
But she also admired Julia. Lucas gave her such a hard time, and she never even lost her cool.
The two walked into the dining room together.
‘Tyrone looked at them with so much resentment. His dark circles were huge. He must have stayed up all
night.
“Tsk. I guess the black card’s with its real owner now.”
Sherry froze. “What do you mean? Was that black card you gave me… Lucas’s?”
“Duh. I don’t have the right to carry a black card with my status-just a bastard son.”
Tyrone said it like he was making fun of himself, but his face showed he didn’t care at all.
So Lucas had been helping her since that early.
“You’ve helped me so many times. I don’t even know how to thank you.” She wondered if she could ever pay him back.
After all, she was always the one giving to others. No one had ever given anything to her before. She felt totally lost.
“I did it because I wanted to.” Lucas brought over a plate of steak, cut it up, and pushed it toward Sherry. “Besides, your cooking is so good. Even the restaurants under my family’s name could learn from you.”
She had just messed around with cooking when she couldn’t find her own worth. “I’ll do whatever I can to help. Anything.”
Lucas picked up a piece of steak with his fork and held it to Sherry’s mouth. “Eat first.”
The look of gratitude in Sherry’s eyes-it was clear she had never felt warmth before. She looked like someone you could trick away with just a lollipop.

Tyrone rolled his eyes at the two of them, pulled a phone out of his pocket, and held it up to Sherry. “Quit staring at the steak. Look-this is your phone.”
Then he pulled another phone out of his other pocket., “And this one’s yours.”
Sherry took her phone. Hmm… no signal.
They sailed at sea for four whole days before getting back to King City. Those four days were probably the happiest of her life.
She hadn’t been in King City long, but everyone there had left a good impression on her.
Walking on this land never felt heavy to her.
But things weren’t over yet.
As soon as Sherry got back, her phone started blowing up with notifications.
Especially from Tony and the others at work.
“Sherry! You finally answered! What’s wrong with your husband? Why’s there another woman with him? And she’s really tough too!”
Tony sounded even angrier. “Typical cheater! Once a cheater, always a cheater! When will men ever be faithful?!”
He didn’t even care about acting like a proper man anymore. His true colors were already out at work, so he just let loose.
“I’ll go check what’s going on.” Sherry hung up the phone.
She found out Julia and Gilbert had come back a few days earlier than her.
In just two days, Julia was all over the news.
She made a grand entrance into the entertainment industry, invested in a big movie, and got offers from several hit variety shows.
And that same night, she moved into the Splendor Villa with Gilbert.
Wendy was still at the villa Sherry used to live in, happily working as a maid.
Julia had already moved into the Splendor Villa in style.
No one had even invited Wendy back to the Splendor Villa!
On Sherry’s way back, Julia was giving a high-profile interview.
“How do you respond to people saying you’re only getting roles because Mr. Bode is funding you?”
Julia smiled softly. “I don’t think that’s a bad thing. From an investor’s perspective, it’s only right to choose
