Chapter 179 The Premiere Challenge

Chapter 179 The Premiere Challenge

Lucas glanced down at the tickets Sherry was holding.

“You really gonna go see Julia’s movie?” he asked her.

She hadn’t planned on it, but she couldn’t rat out Tony. “Not like I got anything better to do. Might as well check it out.”

“These are premiere tickets-Julia sent them to us,” Lucas said.

Sherry frowned. “She sent them?”

Max talked a mile a minute. “Mr. Harrison stuck up for you online, right? But Julia’s got some guts-she straight-up said she had no clue about all that drama.”

Plus, everyone’s attention had already shifted to Cathy. Most people forgot Julia was the one who started all this mess.

And she even had the nerve to play innocent. Max suddenly put on this cutesy voice, mocking what he thought Julia sounded like. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to make things worse. I just wanted to say how kind Sherry was to Gilbert.

“Here are two tickets for you two. I hope you’ll come to my premiere-I wanna say sorry to both of you.”

Let’s just say Max nailed that fake, cheesy tone-total drama queen move.

Tony was stunned. “Max, you’re such a cutie!”

Max stared at him, confused. Wait, did he just get complimented wrong? I’m a total hottie, for Pete’s sake.

Sherry stared at the two premiere tickets. They felt less like an invitation and more like a dare.

“If you don’t wanna go, just rip them up,” Lucas said. He wanted Sherry to do whatever felt right for her.

“Oh, I’m going,” she said firmly.

Deep down, she didn’t want to. But Julia had spouted all that stuff online.

If Sherry bailed, Julia would probably twist it all around, blaming Sherry for any drama between her and Lucas. That’s exactly the kind of thing Julia would do.

Sherry knew drama queens-she’d dealt with plenty of them in her life.

She just never thought this was the woman Wendy had been going on and on about.

This was Wendy’s idol. Gilbert’s idol. Even George’s idol.

George had been trailing Julia around these days too. But Gilbert had more pull-and was way more popular than George.

Chapter 179 The Premiere Challenge

These two were the top dogs in Seaseat City. There’s no way they’d let a drama queen play them for fools, right?

Sherry didn’t wanna pass judgment on Gilbert,

He’d spoiled Julia’s little sister that bad-imagine how he treated Julia herself.

He probably hadn’t even thought about Sherry these past few months. He never sent her a single text.

But George? His mood was all over the place. When he got mad, he’d even hit women!

And yet, he treated Julia like she was a goddess.

Is their love really that shallow? Can’t they see through Julia’s act?

Or is the drama queen bit just an act?

No way someone who’s got everyone wrapped around her finger is just some cheesy drama queen.

“You sent Sherry a dare? I heard Mr. Harrison has never had a woman with him since he took charge of the Harrison family. Sherry’s the first one,” Wendy said, her face still swollen.

Ever since filming started, people had first called her Julia’s little sister then they’d all labeled her the bad

guy.

Her face was still bruised from the slap.

She glared daggers at Julia. “Don’t get cocky ’cause you think you’re charming. You can’t seduce every guy. While you’ve been filming these three months, who knows how close Sherry and Lucas have gotten? They might even get married soon-after she divorces Gilbert. You’re so cheap, going after other people’s men!”

Julia was putting on makeup in front of a mirror, calm as could be. She scoffed softly. “Only people who can’t cut it get scared of someone beating ’em to the punch.”

She checked her reflection again, grinning. The woman in the mirror was drop-dead gorgeous—one of a kind, even in the entertainment industry, where pretty girls were a dime a dozen.

What stood out more was the calm in her eyes, like she had everything under control. No matter how bad things got, no matter how hopeless it seemed, Julia always looked like this. Like she’d never lose—not ever.

“Besides, isn’t it more fun when someone thinks they’ve won-then I yank it right out from under them? I swear, Sherry gets scared just seeing my face, or even hearing my name.

“She’s not a threat to me.”

Sherry had stuck by Gilbert for five years, doing everything she could for him. And still, she couldn’t hold a candle to Julia-who’d been gone for five whole years.

Anyone would fall apart after that. They’d never trust anyone again.
