Chapter 191 Julia’s True Colors
Her point was totally obvious.
Bringing up divorce here? That was just opening the door for other girls! Telling everyone their marriage was falling apart, so some other chick could step in and take her place.
Only a total dummy would do something that stupid!
“Oh, you think you’re so smart,” Sherry shot back. “Pretending you’re all chummy with Mr. Harrison. You really think we don’t see how you throw yourself at every guy in the room?”
Sherry had been too tired to call her out before. After all these years of dealing with people like Julia—all these goody-two-shoes and fake nice girls-she was drained.
Because after all the fighting, she figured out the truth didn’t even matter. It all boiled down to who was the favorite. Whoever was favored was always the “right” one.
Whoever wanted Gilbert, she’d make room. She didn’t want to fight anymore.
But Lucas’s words had snapped her out of it.
Julia was just out to get under her skin. Sometimes, backing down didn’t make it stop. Julia would keep pushing her until she couldn’t take it anymore-until she cracked.
Sherry could leave Seaseat City on her own, but she’d never let anyone run her out.
Julia acted like she wasn’t targeting Sherry, like she hadn’t done a thing to her. But she was always overstepping, using Sherry’s bad name to climb higher.
Last time Sherry was trending, if Lucas hadn’t fixed it quick, who knows how bad she would’ve been dragged through the mud?
Sure enough, when Gilbert heard Julia, he got even angrier than when people were gossiping about him earlier. “Sherry! Do you know what you’re saying? Now you’re not just mixing up right and wrong-you’re slandering her! Julia was just telling it like it is. Do you gotta be so cruel?
“Are you so jealous you wanna ruin Julia? Don’t you worry about karma for doing something this low?”
But both Sherry and Gilbert had underestimated how thick Julia’s skin was. When she heard that, her face didn’t even flinch.

“Aren’t all people just strangers who grow close little by little?” she said smoothly. “Besides, I didn’t tell anyone who I was before. This time, I’m just revealing a little. Even if Mr. Harrison isn’t into me, I’m sure he’s curious about my identity.
“As for you, Ms. Campbell-talking so harsh. Are you scared I’ll steal Mr. Harrison from you? Should I thank you for saying I’m good enough to be a threat?”
With that, she patted her own back and made Sherry look like a jealous nutjob.
She was actually pretty good at that. Sure enough, everyone looked at her like she was impressive.
Even Gilbert, who never praised anyone, actually gave her a thumbs up.
Lucas spoke up then. “Julia, you’re right about one thing. I am curious about your identity.
“After all, you’re the type to manipulate someone’s husband into turning on his own wife and taking the side of an outsider. A trick like that? You can never be too careful around people like you.”
His words made everyone stop and think. Yeah, now that they thought about it, that was messed up.
It didn’t matter what was going on between her and Lucas.
At the end of the day, he was single and she was single, too.
But even though that kind of thing wasn’t unheard of in this circle, it made people nervous. Not everyone was like Sherry, who’d just yell “divorce” when things went south. Most of them were fighting tooth and nail to hold onto their spot as their husband’s wife.
If they wanted to be friends with Julia, they’d have to keep their guard up around her.
It was clear now-Julia wasn’t gonna get their support easily, not from the wives in this circle.
Lucas didn’t say much, but every word hit home. He turned the whole thing around in a second.
Julia forced a smile. “Mr. Harrison, this isn’t just bad for me. Aren’t you worried about yourself, too?”
“You talking about the dress Sherry’s wearing?” Lucas took off his suit jacket and draped it over Sherry’s shoulders. “Earlier you swore you gave me the go-ahead to let her wear that gown?”
“I hate to brag, and I really don’t want to make a fuss. After all, I just got back from abroad-
