Her Revenge Was His Regret (Shirley and Gilbert) novel Chapter 235

Chapter 235 A Lost Detour

She could even feel the faint brush of Lucas’s breath against her nose, and the reassuring scent on his body. Unconsciously, images of his perfect waistline and abs popped into her head.

Her cheeks were burning.

“Once Adam gets a few more pieces of evidence, he can help you with the divorce lawsuit. Giving you 30% today… No matter what, if Gilbert doesn’t give you your share of the property in the end, then…”

Today’s incident would definitely spread. If they really got divorced and Gilbert didn’t give her a penny, it would fully prove what Lucas had said that Gilbert never gave Sherry anything. All his previous excuses would be nothing but lies.

Not to mention anything else-this “stingy” label would stick with him for life. At the very least, people would be extra careful doing business with him.

If he wouldn’t even give his wife a penny, how could he give benefits to anyone else?

“But that’s going too far…” This was ridiculous. Even if the Harrison Group was 100% controlled by his family, Sherry remembered there were more than just his immediate family members.

There were quite a few relatives and distant kin.

Sherry had seen firsthand how distant relatives in the Campbell family acted. When you had something they wanted, they swarmed around, eager to take a bite out of you.

When you had nothing, they couldn’t wait to stay away-afraid of being associated with you. They’d even come out and say it straight-don’t try to mooch off them; they didn’t have any poor relatives like you.

The more powerful the family, the fiercer the power struggles.

“You don’t have to worry about anything happening to the Harrison family.”

How could Sherry not worry?

Money could make people lose their minds.

“The problem was never with the Harrison family.” Lucas smiled softly. “Besides, no one in the family dares to say a word. On the contrary, they should be happy.

“Happy to welcome you to the bandwagon.”

Sherry thought he was joking at first. Countless people wanted to join them.

But the only way to join the Harrison family was through marriage. Yet Sherry had only recently learned that the Harrisons never arranged marriages.

Otherwise, folks would’ve been beating down the Harrison’s door-no matter how shameless they had to be-begging for their kids to get a second look..

In short, they were very mysterious. Sherry felt an inexplicable curiosity-curious about him, and curious about the entire Harrison family.

The next morning, she got up early. A person’s biological clock was terrifying-she’d gotten used to waking up early.

Before, she’d felt wronged. She hadn’t wanted to get up, knowing she’d end up working like a maid for others, only to be unappreciated.

But now it was different.

Now, getting up to make money was motivation.

She had an event to attend today.

Before leaving, Lucas had said, “If something annoys you, just say it outright. I didn’t even need to come to this event, but that idiot Tyrone promised someone a favor a year ago.”

“By the way, where is Tyrone now?” Sherry felt like she hadn’t seen him in ages.

It seemed that besides Max and Tony, very few people in the company knew Tyrone.

“He messed things up so badly. I sent him to a foreign branch to work for a while. Teach him to tone down his arrogance.”

Sherry soon found out why Tyrone had messed up.

It was an event about the film industry.

And it was related to the recent movie starring Dale. No wonder Lucas had told her not to hold back.

But once she walked in, she realized it was related to Dale-but luckily, Dale wasn’t there. She hadn’t run into anyone from Seaseat City in a while, so her work had been going smoothly.

Every time she ran into someone from Seaseat City, trouble followed. Yesterday had almost fallen apart, and she didn’t want anything to go wrong today. Fortunately, Dale wasn’t around.
