The group spent the rest of the time guessing who the man across the hall was-none of them had a clue.

They joked and ate, then headed out. Just as they walked through the door, Sherry bumped

into someone.

It was that wild, handsome man.

He looked up at Sherry, his eyes widening for a split second.

“Julia?”

Sherry’s first thought was he was talking about the Julia Mack she knew. For a moment, she wondered if the guy was crazy.

But she didn’t snap at him. After all, there were plenty of people named Julian in the world.

The man met Sherry’s gaze and realized his mistake. He smiled awkwardly. “Sorry-I mistook you for a friend. I didn’t expect there was another girl as gorgeous as Julia Mack.”

The man looked unruly yet polite. He stood there, drawing everyone’s eyes.

Even more than Lucas.

Lucas had timeless good looks-if you didn’t make eye contact or get too close.

This guy

seemed tough to mess with, but he was easier to approach than Lucas. Lucas was so intimidating most people didn’t dare talk to him.

He was like a work of art-untouchable.

“Lots of girls are gorgeous. Not all of them are Julia.” Sherry’s tone was sarcastic. She rarely spoke to people like this-only her rivals.

But the man didn’t get it. Most pretty girls wanted to feel special, he guessed. “You might be mad, but I have to say-if you know Julia, you’d realize it’s a compliment to look even a little like her.”

“Keep that compliment. We don’t want it.” Juan pushed past the man.

I’ve just been gushing about how handsome the guy is. But he’s on Julia’s side? Total idiot.

Back when Sherry was skinny, she couldn’t compare. But now she’d gained weight, her cheeks. were plump—she was way prettier than Julia.

Any woman could see it: Julia’s beauty was all about the vibe.

From her clothes and accessories to her perfectly styled hair-even an average-looking girl could be pretty with that setup.

The group

walked away.

The man stood there, muttering, “Why do I feel like those people are targeting Julia on purpose?”

Anne pulled Hector’s arm. “You’re imagining things. They’re just mad you mistook her for someone else. But look closely-she does look and act a little like Julia, even in vibe.”

Hector stared at Sherry’s back, his interest piqued. “Get me all the info on that girl.”

The man had totally ruined their mood.

“Is it just me, or do I keep hearing Julia’s name lately?” Tony rolled her eyes. “Her movie isn’t even out yet-how do so many people know her?

“I told you before-she’s a top-tier fake nice girl. She wants everyone to talk about her, to revolve around her.

“Girls like her are easy to take down. Digjup some dirt, make her ‘famous for being hated’ even if she becomes a star. She’ll cry for sure!”

Tony looked like he knew girls better than anyone else.

“Her desire to be famous is so obvious. Hey, when’s her movie premiere? When does it come out? I’ll tell everyone I know not to watch it. I’ll make her box office tank.” Juan looked ready for a fight.

If the box office was terrible, Julia could still get into the industry with her skills. But it would be a lifelong joke-a black mark people would always use against her.

Sherry looked at the ticket in her hand. She had it now, but a vague unease lingered.

As she stared at the ticket, her phone rang. It was Melissa. “I found something. Don’t sign any deals with entertainment companies lately. Be careful if you want to keep your job.”

Sherry had only turned down one deal so far. “You mean all entertainment companies are bad?”

“The Harrisons have enough resources. Even if something goes wrong, don’t let it be on your watch.” If Sherry angered the Harrisons, Adam might drop her divorce case. It wouldn’t do her any good either.
