Chapter 252 The Internet Erupts
If Julia hadn’t pointed the finger so quickly, no one would have automatically assumed Sherry was behind this.
But now? It fit perfectly. Even though the screen had switched back to the actual movie, the damage was done.
Opening night, first five minutes, and boom-disaster. It felt like a bad omen, like nothing good could follow.
If we’re talking who took the bigger hit, it was definitely Wendy. More people would suspect Sherry.
And once that video slipped out, Sherry could already picture how people would talk about her.
Which did happen.
A few people in the audience had started livestreams sneakily.
The live room exploded. This level of buzz usually only happens with A-listers.
[Holy crap! How does a screw-up this big even happen?]
[Screw-up? This isn’t a screw-up. This is deliberate. Someone’s trying to destroy Julia. And Sherry? She’s scary as hell-she’d rather blow up her own messy image just to drag Julia down.]
“Sherry, the Villain” trended within minutes.
Playing your personal footage at someone else’s movie premiere? That had to be a first in this industry-perhaps even in the entire century.
The hate comments rolled in, then the amateur psychologists showed up.
[It’s like killing yourself to take out the enemy, Lose a thousand troops to wound one. Didn’t you see Sherry acting like a total simp?]
[Back then, we were saying Gilbert doing this looked like kicking a man when he’s down. And come on, those two were in love, right? No need to throw around “simp” or whatever. They loved once, now they don’t. That’s it.]
[Well, this video slapped that opinion right out of my face. She’s a textbook simp.]

[Can we talk about Julia though? She’s been working nonstop, promoting this film everywhere, dealing with drama queens left and right-and has anyone ever seen her lose her cool? Not once. Professional through and through.]
True. Until tonight, Julia had never broken composure in public.
[She acts tough, but she’s just a normal girl underneath. She’s been hyping this premiere for weeks, running herself ragged doing press, and Sherry just… destroys it. If someone did that to me, I’d lose it too. I’ve never seen anyone as evil as Sherry.]
And then-right on cue-camera phones caught the glisten in Julia’s eyes. Tears. Real ones.
Her hands clenched into fists at her sides, knuckles white. She stared at Sherry like she wanted to burn holes through her.
Then a man stormed down the aisle, face like thunder.
The crowd tracked his movement as he headed straight for Julia, arms reaching out to comfort her.
Julia stumbled backward, putting distance between them. She shook her head frantically.
“Please-from now on, we need to keep our distance. Look what happened just because people thought we were close. If-”
She cut herself off, but everyone filled in the blanks-Sherry would absolutely target her because of this.
“And if you two divorce because of this? Then I’m the homewrecker. The villain. I can’t win.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Campbell. I’m sorry for whatever I did to make you hate me. If destroying my premiere makes it even, then… fine. Just please-please leave me alone.”
She looked like she’d been carrying a mountain of grievances, like this wasn’t even the first time something like this had happened,
[Wait-has Sherry been bullying Julia all along? I remember Julia mentioning that she and Gilbert grew up together, their bond tangled up with interests, so it’s hard to draw clean lines.]
[Poor Julia. Sherry’s been torturing her? That’s messed up.]
