Her Revenge Was His Regret (Shirley and Gilbert) novel Chapter 283

Now that Sherry had walked over, his gaze seemed fixed far off. Sherry took a quick look.

If she wasn't mistaken, he was staring directly at Gilbert and Julia.

She couldn't explain it, but there was something oddly familiar about him.

But she had more important things to deal with. "Are you Yelena's spouse?"

She didn't use the word "husband." She'd seen the raw fury in Yelena's eyes as she'd run out.

It had torn Sherry apart. How could she ever steal her friend's man? She was the biggest victim of that kind of betrayal herself.

But thinking back, Yelena's expression wasn't really directed at her. That hatred, it filled her whole gaze, like she was looking at an enemy.

There was no way she'd be that angry at Sherry over something she didn't even know about.

So it had to be because of him—Hector.

Whatever his motive—helping Julia, or something else—it only proved he didn't care about Yelena at all.

"Yes." Hector didn't deny it.

"Then you know we're best friends. And you still pulled this crap?" Sherry's voice dropped to ice.

There weren't many people in this corner, but a few were lurking nearby, watching. They were dying to know if Sherry and Hector were secretly hooking up behind her friend's back.

The way they were talking, they at least knew each other.

Some were even recording. Tomorrow's headlines were going to be explosive.

Clearly, they'd bought Julia's story. They thought Sherry was just as scandalous, playing the victim while being wilder than any of them. Plenty of people had actually felt sorry for Sherry.

And now this?

In this circle, there were no real victims.

You had to hand it to Julia—she'd really succeeded in trashing Sherry's reputation.

But then, in a flash, Sherry grabbed Hector by the head, drove her knee up into his face, and in one fluid motion, flipped him onto the ground.

She pinned him there, her foot pressing down hard on him.

She landed a few good hits before Adam finally stepped in and pulled her back.

But when he got a look at Hector's face, he nearly jumped out of his skin.

He'd thought girl fights were just for show—a little hair-pulling, some slapping. But two moves from Sherry, and Hector's face looked like ground beef.

He was still on the floor, struggling to get up.

Julia glanced at Gilbert with that look, the one that said, "See? Sherry just doesn't understand me."

But before Gilbert could speak, Sherry spoke first, "Hector, you're clearly a total simp, aren't you? You do all Julia's dirty work for her, and now you're lying on the floor, and she hasn't even asked if you're okay."

Both Julia and Gilbert finally looked down at the mess on the ground.

That was Hector???

"Sherry, do you have any idea who Hector is? How dare you lay a hand on him!" Julia shrieked, fake shock plastered all over her face.

Sherry knew the routine by now—Julia was setting her up, trying to pin all the blame on her alone.

"Instead of standing there playing victim, maybe get him to a hospital. He got hurt because of you."

But Sherry underestimated just how pathetic simps could be.

Gilbert stepped forward. "Sherry, do you have a death wish? Do you know who you just attacked? He's from Keiperian, and after Mr. Miller, his family is the strongest. You hit him—you're signing your own death warrant!"

With Mr. Miller dead, Hector was the top dog now. How could Sherry be so reckless?

"I'm starting to wonder if 'strongest' is something you just toss around. I don't see strong. I just see two simps."

Simps?
